Shweta in L’Officiel India: Decoded

What we thought was a shoot with just Vuitton accessories included some Vuitton outfits too. Included also were the family’s favorite designer Abu-Sandeep who were also contributing editors on the article.

Although, Abu-Sandeep aren’t credited as stylists for this shoot, I can’t help but wonder if they gave some input. I remember they used Louis Vuitton accessories for Amitabh’s first ever shoot for L’Officiel Homme. You can check that out here.

You can catch the whole interview of the siblings and more of Abhishek here.

Sneha Ullal sure takes the cake when it comes to mop tops! Lets not even get into the denim bolero. Shudder.

Too Much Color Coordination

When boleros were (read: WERE!) in fashion, you still never matched it to your top. Yukta seems to have totally missed out on that tip! Tsk Tsk. This one should stand behind Amrita Rao in the “Wanted: A Stylist Urgently” line!

Day 2: Vikram Phadnis

This is what I have been saying all along, give me a fresher perspective, give me a new twist, give me something that makes me sit back and go, yes, thats it! Vikram Phadnis does all that and then some! Color palette was brilliant, earthy browns and beiges, matt gold, deep burgundy, shimmery-gold-yellow and a metallic dust there, a shimmer here! He not only played with colors but also with textures! If there was a flowy dress, there was a quilted bolero jacket on top of it! And how fabulous is that yellow/gold dress? I loved the wide belts and structured embellished jackets!

And pay attention to the way the models were styled. Make-up was minimal, bare and fresh! Lips were light and eyes were not laden down! A trend am seeing in most shows!

Uber sexy. Uber glamorous! Loved the collection!

More Burnt-out Fashion At Aag

Maybe they didn’t get the memo, but aren’t premieres a formal occassion? Isn’t that a place where you gussy up, so that, when I look at the pictures of you, I want to go watch the movie, just a tad more? Sushmita obviously missed the boat, in an uninspired see through shirt! But somebody please tell me what Gul Panag was thinking dressed like that at RGV’s Aag premiere?

The whole midriff look works when you are lunching with your girlfriends or at a beach. Just about anywhere else, its tacky. And the tee, oh boy! While am all for pop-kitsch, that wouldn’t have been my first pick! And you know whats coming next.. The sequinned gold/pink undertone bolero. Two words: Doesn’t Work.

All in all, an outfit put together in two seconds flat when blindfolded. Kudos.
