In Iris Van Herpen and Cassey Curran
Mona, an entreprenuer, attended the 2024 Met Gala wearing an Iris Van Herpen gown and a mechanical arm piece from Cassey Curran that made the individual pieces open up like butterflies. And while the platform glittery sandals were a bit of an eyesore, ankle up, this was a very striking look.

WOW! My jaw dropped at the details. This is exquisite and high fashioned all while still being so simple and elegant. Now this is high fashion.
Nah, I’ll pass. Maybe a video of how the mechanical arm works would change my opinion.
She slayed!!!!
Amazing gown so apt for the theme and she looks beautiful in it.
For me this was the best dress out of all! Even the mechanical parts on the back of dress with wires attached to the butterflies all were designed to be beautifully integrated into the design! There is a video of it in action. It was brilliantly engineered!
This is so so good! She was one of the best dressed and on theme! How often do you see art and technology in piece of garment? So beautifully executed.
The dress comes alive! Definitely one the best looks of the evening.
I don’t like this colour but I just saw the video and the outfit is so beautiful – not just the mechanical fluttering butterflies but also the stitch work. Very memorable.
This was a wowza! She understood the assignment
This was such an exquisite look . Beautifully done . Definitely the best look of the evening
This is a stunning look and the mechanics are quite fascinating. I have a small quibble though that the way the dress opens in the front is a bit off. Maybe if the gaping opening had been a little less wide, or if it wasn’t that high up, it would have looked better. As it is, it looks a bit awkward – her own stance adds to that feeling.
