In Margiela by Galliano

How does one outdo Schiaparelli and Sabyasachi, well by wearing a custom piece inspired from one of the most talked Couture shows this past winter, the Margiela By Galliano one. I absolutely loved this one on her. No complaints.

    • But this is THE Met Gala . There is a theme. You dress as per the theme. And the theme isn’t regular fare 😉
Celebrities and designers go all out to make a statement .

      • It’s giving me creeps, you said it right she came out if a mysterious life sized mushroom and blossomed through swamp.

  3. This is giving me a flooring marble vibe in a forgotten mansion taken over the forest in Last of Us kind of sense. Trust NattyPoo to keep it interesting!

  4. She looks fucking incredible! Correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s the first time I’ve seen an Indian wear Galliano’s couture on a red carpet (Dior or MM) and this is one for the history books. Only she could pull this off. This is where you know you don’t have to be 5’10 or a movie star to look incredible-it just takes confidence and this woman has that in spades!

  5. The Gzrden of Life is a progression from natural materials for clothes to a piece of pure artifice purely for display. Seems appropriate for a highly urbanised society glued to phones.

PS: Amazed that this piece has pinched in waist, an odd bustle and improbable shoes. Discomfort is the new black.

    • Great observations! Looks like she atleast was able to walk in it. Gigi’s and Tyla’s exquisitely crafted costumes rendered them essentially immobile so much so that Gigi had to waddle and Tyla had to be physically carried across steps.
I guess it a ‘small ‘ price they pay for donning one-of -a-kind haute couture piece?

    • The Met’s Costume theme was Sleeping Beauties: awakening fashion… Vogue India called this look something “reminiscent of an old archival piece pulled out of an old trunk covered with cobwebs”… Also, the “Garden of time” theme is based on a story by the same name… In that story, the protagonist says the garden is dying… To me, the black is symbolic of death in the garden…

  6. Wow what a dress! So complex and event appropriate! The many facets of a garden. I wonder if that netting is one time wear. The marble/ spider web effect is so interesting.

  7. The event she was attending was titled ‘Sleeping Beauties – Reawakening Fashion’ for which I think this is a great interpretation!

  8. Usually I love her looks! They are bold and striking and run on the mill but this I don’t like! May be because I am looking to be wowed in a more traditional way. I couldn’t look at it long enough to understand what’s going on. Has she been featured on any best dressed looks yet?

  9. I’m getting a Halloween vibe from this! I look at her feet and dunno if it’s front or back, I see black cobwebs all over and then the odd shaped white bodice of a ghost, of course!!
