The 2024 Met Gala in underway as I type and one of the first guests to arrive was Mindy wearing a Gaurav Gupta gown from his couture collection. To me, it didn’t seem to gel with the dress code which was “The Garden of Time” but she looked pretty striking here.
Update: Mindy called the gown “Melting flower of time”.

You have to see he back to really get the melting reference…it really drives it home! The color could have been more interesting.

Comparisons with Ash will be inevitable but I think Mindy actually wore it better — also, maybe, GG needs to come up with something new? Big red carpet moment, desi (origin) stars, same design… seems like a missed op.
The dress is nice, and she wears it well, but I dint care for the way she has styled her hair.
The real drama is at the back of the dress.

I’m not a fan of this color, but Mindy’s makeup pulls it off.
The back does look like icecream being dispensed on a cone at McDonald’s

Most important part of the dress is missing. To me the back of it represents time from the garden of time, but more like that warped fabric of spacetime, which the back of the dress totally represents
I am kinda bored of this by GG. Mindy looks great but it’s neither unique for the event or impactful.
I am having a design fatigue here. It’s so repetitive that it feels boring.
