Sari Style

For the trailer launch of her upcoming movie, Sanya picked a silk sari to wear. With her hair in an updo, she rounded out the look with some traditional jewelry. She looked lovely!

  1. Just because it’s a traditional weave do we have to love it ? It’s gaudy and not very pretty in my opinion . Love this girl though

  2. She looks nice, but cannot look past the Malhotra casting for a Meenakshi and the cliched trailer with Rajni-isms and the cringe worthy (yet again) tamil typecast dialogues that is so done to death. That the producers couldnt find a single authentic Meenakshi from so many lovely actresses from the south for the movie…Major head slap.

    • Thank you for speaking the truth sista I am having the same issues with this casting. So while I appreciate that outfit, I’m having a hard time looking at the entire movie and it’s promotions.

    • Many lovely South actresses are North Indian. Fact. At least this is a Hindi movie. Try seeing South movies where they play village girls and look totally not that. Nothing against the actresses, they are just making a living, but the South industry (very male dominated) has a lot to answer for when it comes to colourism.

      • Yes good point on the opposite spectrum where dolled up, impeccably made up north indians are portrayed as village belles, where they don’t make an ounce of effort to even lip sync correctly on the songs…utter miscasting and carricaturistic there as well. Here, I thought Thalaivi fared well, just talks how the effort translates so well.

    • I understand these PR and promo stunts. Show up in character style during promos. But even otherwise, the entire movie is cringe. No one really dresses like that in south. Or talks about Rajani. Stereotypes. Even the movie title is cringe.
