In Tarun Tahiliani

Sudha Reddy was another Indian in attendance at the Met Gala who opted for a Tarun Tahiliani corset and skirt set finishing out the look with a diamond necklace that could possibly buy up a few countries.

To me, this outfit didn’t really stand out, we’ve just seen so many similar styles before, but what was the final nail in the coffin was the fact that the corset featuring an minature painting style embroidery of her own face “holding the MET gala rose, as an offering of peace and love”. What the!? Am face-palming over here. What about you?

Thanks for the early morning laugh, Payal. I needed it.

  2. The miniature painting with a floral motif is the only interesting touch, even if of her own face? Rest is just polyester curtains and fake pearls.

  3. Hahaha this was such a funny way to start my morning. Your comments were too funny and spot on
Is this a horrendous wedding gown with a Mumtaj mughal twist? Quite a head palm that such a big designer would produce an atrocity as this probably per the client requirements, that severely brings down their brand value, but then I guess it’s all about the moolah!

    • I went straight to the horse, in this case Tarun Tahiliani’s social media. They described it as “The corsetted bodice features a portrait of … embodying the past while in the present, delicately painted and embroidered in the miniature style of painting”. There is no mention of Moghul garden but every fashion site writer is allowed to make their own interpretation of what they see.

    • Its still hideous whether its her own face or a mogul lady holding a rose or is that interpretation to be that she is the new age mogul lady holding the rose as it seems that they have a business empire in Hyderabad. Any which way one interprets this, its not working for me. The gown, the bag, the mogul face or the hairdo. But to each their own…I am sure there are other out there who love this look 🙂

Some media outlet reported that the bag was $40,000 – is that real? Does that also have diamonds on it?

Saw her necklace being designed by Farah Khan on instagram – that is a work of art – devil is in the details!

  6. I want to be so rich that I can be a philanthropist ,can buy a few countries, still throw some fancy rocks around my neck , and have snooty Anna wintour invite to her silly gathering because of my donations … wear a silly dress and have guts to have a rose embroidered which represents peace and love during such turbulent times , force tarun tahilini to throw away his self respect to design this custom made dress! I love her for sincerely being herself and not caring a damn ! She is my new favourite ! Iam not being sarcastic
