Sari Style

Kiran was seen at Ira and Nupur’s wedding festivities first in a lilac narayanpet sari draped in the nauvari way and then in a cream kanjivaram draped in the seedha palla style. The drapes were a bit messy but I sure liked that she sported something other than the oft-seen Nivi.

  1. A bit? c’mon.. you cant give her a free pass just because she is kiran rao.. I am sure anyone else in her place would have classified as wthey.. the draping is very messy and I fail to understand why is the purple saree not ironed.. surely they can all afford a good laundry and drapist

  2. This drape is an insult of Nau-vari. My 90+old ajis drape and look 100 times better than this.
Messy is an understatement, Kiran’s nau-vari drape is gimmicky, only to grab eyeballs.

  3. don’t mind the messy drapes at all — sarees are freeflowing garments, they’re not always meant to be ironed and pinned into submission! if you have the confidence, wear them as you will!

    • Then why bother wearing sarees? To look undone? Stylishly.. wear sarongs, skirts, cholas, whatever or just tie cloth like it is in mills.

  4. Why, in the design aesthetic of Kiran, Shibani and some others, is quirky/offbeat always so messy and all over the place? I like the “hatke” concepts but it’s rarely a good look

  6. From the pics and videos that I saw, this wedding was as unconventional as it can get… Everyone’s sartorial choices including the bride and grooms’s are best left unsaid.

Kiran’s looks are lazy and clumsy.

  7. I feel sorry for those sarees.

Whats up with her german WW2 haircut?
    Those glasses?
    The sandals?!

She wants to stand out. And she does!! It does take courage to be your own self. Respect her for that.

  8. I can never understand why you guys are so partial towards Kiran Rao, Neha Dhupia, Poorna and a few more… This is horrible dressing from top to toe… Not a single redeeming quality and yet you will sugarcoat the “bit messy” draping by liking what she wore…most of her looks scream for attention as if she deliberately wants to look unkempt and dishevelled and yet, she is never called out.. A few of your less favorite ones get nitpicked all the time
Sorry to say but the bias is pretty obvious!

  9. The unkindness in this comment section is a bit shattering. Kiran has never been a favorite here and that’s ok, but the savagery here is another level.
Chill, peeps. So your granny does a neater job of draping a nauvari. Am sure she’s got 10x your grace too.
