Gauri helped unveil the festive collection from Mahesh Notandass jewellery in Mumbai today wearing a white sari by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and jewellery from the brand
I have to admit, I for one, quite liked the look. After the past few appearances in the one-shouldered gowns that were very unflattering, this one made for a very welcome change and was a huge improvement.
I also appreciated the fact that she didn’t go for a bold lip here. The look would’ve veered into the gaudy territory had she done so.
Looks like someone’s been listening. Well, that’s what we here would like to think. 😛

Not at all elegant. She needs to wear her saree properly.
This get up appear as quite bland for unveiling a festive collection. It needs some oomph and I don’t mean the sexy kind. Perhaps a bindi or gajra would have helped. Not to mention, a better drape of the pallu over the bosom. When one does white in Indian wear, there is a very thin line between joyous and sad look and this is dangerously close to appearing sad.
Certainly better than her past appearances though…

She looks elegant , that too for the first time.
Would have been a lot better if it didn’t look like the saree was gonna fall off her.

She and SRK seem to now look alike. :O Somehow even this look is not all that but it is quite a bit of an improvement from the oil tank face and the tacky clothes she usually is seen in.
Yeah, not to mention the 90s (partly pinned up and poofy) hair. I found that the biggest change here !
Tacky clothes and oily makeup is true for SRK too.
With the exception of the drape she looks quite nice. Better than the gowns. But I must say that a ‘festive’ collection needs color.

Gauri, please do something about your eyebrows 🙁 That would have helped this look 10000x. And a dye job with sleeker hair and she would be 10/10
What purpose darping a saree like that surve??
It just look so tacky, and desperate..- I really don’t know why do it- I have never seen anyone looking elegant with that type of draping, then why even bother
this brought down the look several notches.
But she is looking good after a long time. I agree -bold lips would have loked tacky.
Why is her saree draped like that around her blouse? Its always like that. Is that a trick her stylist told her? Someone please explain to me

i want to see her give a try to kancheevaram and tussar saris.they might suit her a lot better and bring more grace to her figure which is always somehow lacking,no matter what she tries. she might have worn those but i don’t think i have seen her in them here.
The saree looks like it will unravel anytime. And as so many others mentioned, there is not much festive about the look. I’d have loved to see some rubies or topaz against the dull saree to bring in some much needed color. As it stands, the look is just washed out and dull…
