Sari Style
Of these two lovely ladies, while one fared well in her sari, the other had no such luck.
Neena looked great in her Masaba sari. It’s always an Aww moment when you see a mom so proudly support her daughter. On the other hand, Hema’s sari did great disservice to her. And the styling only added to her woes.

I like hemas saree way better
Neena looks like a circus in that saree
agree..
true that
Ditto! Only thing Hema should have avoided is the hair piece, she still looks like a dream girl
Neena = Rickshaw alert.
Hema = Hail to the Queen.
So true. She’s so beautiful; but the hair piece looks too prom queen. I have never understood the appeal of Masaba sarees – only her mum would wear it.
Thumbs down to both. Thiese should be filed under:how not to wear a sari
I love masaba sarees ! Hema’s is the usual stuff. But Hema looks gorgeous nevertheless.
ditto!!
Perhaps Hemaji thought the name of The awards ceremony to
be the theme !
that was a good one 🙂
Exactly what I thought too…
And, why does she have a crown in her hair! ?1
HAHAHAHA
Hema looks lovely In gold, I don’t like Neena saree one it’s like a curtain
Hema Malini is wearing a Manav Gangwani, please ammend your records…
There is nothing great about Neena’s saree but Hema’s whole look is atrocious…whats that weird clip or tiara type thing in her hair? The saree is too blingyyyy!!!
Both their sarees are terrible, one has Creases in hers and the others is gaudy!!
If only Hema’s fabric wasn’t shining like plastic shopping bag material this look would be stunning. I like evenly applied bling and the sari is just that. Masaba’s designs are as usual fun.
how old is hema malini?? she is doing way more justice to close up shots that 22 year olds do these days. If she can look this gorgeous wearing such trash, i cant imagine how beautiful she’d look in good clothes!
I don’t think much of the Masaba number because now its getting repetitive. But its always heart warming to see a mother promote her child.
I really can’t stand ladies of a certain age wearing these blingy sarees. Something in a traditional weave would be so much better. Hema looks like a chandelier in that saree and hairdo. Can’t stand Neeta Lulla’s stuff.
Agree.
I think Hema looks like a million bucks, except for that atrocious head piece.
I really dont like Neena’s saree, masaba has great idea but VERY POOR execution..black polka ad canary is an interesting combo, but look at the canary colored material. Like someone pointed out it looks like a curtain, albeit a BADLY stitched on. Don’t know why she doesnt shop for better material and change her tailor. Her tailors do great disservice to her talent. Looks very rushed, and school arts and craftsy
neena is looking fab:)
Neenaji looks graceful .. but our beautiful dream girl hemaji looks Chammak challo with all the bling bling saree jewellery and tiara(really tiara) .. with her beauty she can dazzle even in a plain saree why to overdo..
Sometimes, it is the wearer not the clothes who steals the show. Hema can do cardinal sins in fashion, and that does not dent her beauty. If she had clad herself in a paperbag, she would have carried off the look with aplomb. She is too much of an icon to be made or broken by fashion. This outfit would have looked ridiculous on someone else, but on Hema, the fashion designer gets a free pass. She looks like a dream although she did not need the nightmarish outfit.
How tacky is that whole outfit on Hema Malini. No matter how beautiful she may be, there can’t be any excuses for that gaudy saree and those blingy accessories. If this were a beauty blog, then you’d have to pass all those wtheys that everyone comes down on like bricks, just because someone had a great smile or fabulous eyes!
I understand awarabawarein’s point…This is a fashion blog for sure, but there is a small section of folks who transcend fashion. It is not just their beauty. It may be their carriage, their persona, or just that special something that needs no accessorizing. Hema is such a person. @Eclat, your words are absolutely right for most people who fall within the bell curve. Hema definitely does not.
