In Sabyasachi

For a recent Awards event, Aishwarya picked Sabyasachi to wear. Peep-toe pumps and her signature do completed the look. She looked lovely minus one gripe… The hair! Such a downer; once again, a little too heavy for the look.

  1. Love the suit. Don’t fancy the tassels on the dupatta. But I think she looks nice. Yes the hair needs to change but it’s not disastrous. What bothers me is the make-up. She looks painted and she doesn’t need to do that.

  2. I really wish Ash would update her look (in India, that is; I generally tend to love her international appearances) to a more modern place. She’s a big star who’s lovely to look at. The heavy makeup. the big clothes, the dyed cocker spaniel hair, there’s no need for any of it. It’s like gilding the lily. If she wants to keep it predominantly desi and non-starlet at Indian events, I wish she’d pick simple sarees in light, handloom fabrics and go easy on the warpaint. She could take a cue from Mini Mathur or Nandita Das.

    • It’s not that she’s not wearing the correct shade foundation….it’s too much. Just doesn’t look natural. Check pics on web for her visit to Madhuri Dixit’s father’s prayer meet, Ash has minimum make-up and her skin ldoesn’t need that much help, it’s really pretty.

  3. With her looks, how easy it would be for her to pull off some edgy looks. Even Kajol is doing a better job with experimenting. Aishwarya is just stuck in her safe zone.

      • Yeah, for Aishwarya it’s always a *special* treatment. And this i have seen in the past 6 years of reading HHC, they crawl out of the woodwork to hate comment on something. Be it makeup, hair, clothes..if they don’t find anything else well it’s mostly something in lines of she needs to embrace her curves. lol. And then we wonder why there is so much racist comments on twitter about American Indian winning Ms America. We do it in our own homeland.Ha ha ha.

        • Wow, nitpicking on someone’s appearance is the same as calling them a terrorist???!! Get some perspective. The posters here have every right to publish their opinions (even if I don’t agree with them everytime) the same way you write snarky things about every Madhuri post. So, live and let live!

          • Aw! A Madhuri fan girl! Lol I was only talking about the whole outrage about dark skinned getting the title while in India anyway we are still hell bent on whitening the frick out of the skin. And to think the same current Ms America’s comment on the outgoing Ms America, only adds to fact what goes around comes around. Preach what you practice about live and let live.lol I can point out my views just as any one else can on HHC. *smdh*

    • I di agree with you. That SIIMA was a clear indication of how everyone decided to finish of all the foundation. And no its not just the south actressess. I see that being done by Parineeti Chopra, even Sonam has war paint on many a times. Its now like a given that everyone wears some 2-3 shades lighter foundation to look “fair”. Such a shame. There were lot of other Indian women on twitter who pointed out that the same Nina would probably never win such a title in India. Sad but helluva true. This white skin obsession should stop.

  4. Maybe we should start a collection drive on HHC to gift that book of Karishma’s to her? She looks like she could take a leaf (or chapter) out of it.
Here’s my 2 paise to start off the pot 😉

  6. Love the suit but wish she hadn’t draped the dupatta like a shawl. Makes it look as if she is trying to hide something, when she has nothing to hide. Same with the hair. She looks nice, but wish she would experiment more as she has lost most of the extra weight.

  7. She looks nice. Voluminous anarkalis are her thing guys. I doubt she’s gonna change things up anytime soon just because we are bored. Oh well..we can live vicariously through Sonam.

  8. Same old Anarkali. Too much volume. Too much makeup. Too much hair color.
Maybe if the chunni was not draped like a shawl, it would look a tad better? The suit itself is nice, but on her, its the same old, same old, once again.

And the shoes really pull down the look. Black peep toes are a bit too much for this already heavy voluminous dress. Silver strappy heels would be so much better!
