Of Collabs: The Abaya Saree

As part of a series of events to celebrate UAE’s 50th anniversary, Etihad Airways brought together designer Manish Malhotra and UAE designer Hessa Falasi who co-created an Abaya Saree. When it comes to saris and drapes, I have a pretty open mind but I have to admit, from what I see, I am still trying to figure out if adding the saree name is justified.

I am so very curious to hear your thoughts!

Sari Style

Both Mrunal and Sai picked sheer floral saris for their appearance at a recent Awards event.

Wearing her hair down, Mrunal teamed her Manish Malhotra sari with jewelry from Parekh Ornaments and a SG by Sonia Gulrajani potli. Sai on the other hand wore her hair up in a bun and teamed the RAR Studio sari with jewelry by MetalM.

Though personally neither sari is quite our jam, it doesn’t take away from the fact that both ladies wore their looks well.

In Twos

For both days of festivities, Vaani picked lehengas to wear, a green Arpita Mehta for the sangeet and a white chikan Manish Malhotra for the wedding. She looked nice but outside of that, there wasn’t much else to say… It was same ol’, same ol’. Also, I wish Manish would just stop trying to make that fringe bag happen!

In Manish Malhotra

Alia was seen at the Ranjan-Seal sangeet wearing a lemon green lehenga by Manish Malhotra with an illusion top that was quite risqué and a bit misfitted. Having said that though, she seemed to pull it off and looked nice. You like?

Sari Style

Wearing saris, both Malaika and Waluscha attended Diwali parties. While the former picked a Manish Malhotra sari, the latter picked one by Kalki to wear. They both looked nice and wore their saris well. That sparkly fringe bag on Malaika though, just No.
