Wearing a Monisha Jaising kurta with leather pants and boots and a Vuitton tote, Gauri helped inaugurate a real estate expo in the capital. I started off feeling sorta ok about the pairing of the cotton kurta and the pants but the open zippers at the ankle and the exposed boots is where this look got so disjointed, there was nothing remaining to like.

We know Ms. Khan loves her Jaising kurtas but this need to wear them with anything and everything needs a bit re-thinking.

Gauri helped unveil the festive collection from Mahesh Notandass jewellery in Mumbai today wearing a white sari by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and jewellery from the brand

I have to admit, I for one, quite liked the look. After the past few appearances in the one-shouldered gowns that were very unflattering, this one made for a very welcome change and was a huge improvement.

I also appreciated the fact that she didn’t go for a bold lip here. The look would’ve veered into the gaudy territory had she done so.

Looks like someone’s been listening. Well, that’s what we here would like to think. 😛

Gauri attended a store launch in the capital wearing a nude colored Monisha Jaising gown. The last time we saw her in a similar gown, also a Jaising, we didn’t like it.

Well, this one didn’t change our minds either. In fact, we think this appearance of hers was worse. The look not only felt one-toned but the hair worn the way she did made it really overwhelming.

Since nobody seems to be telling Gauri that she does not look good in these kind of gowns, guess we’ll have to be the bearer of bad news.

For an event that she hosted at her studio, Gauri picked a Monisha Jaising cotton kurta, one that she wore with a pair of tapered blue denims. A chain-belt and metallic sandals finished out her look. And more recently, while at a movie screening, Ms. Khan went a whole other route in her separates. Pair of black boots and a Chanel ‘Boy’ bag finished out her look this time around. No prizes for guessing which she fared better in!

Of the two, our vote lies with the look in Monisha Jaising. The color looked great on her and, Gauri looked nice. (Given her look at the movie screening, we are happy to overlook the denims she paired her kurta with!)

At the launch party of Planet Hollywood Goa, a resort that she helped design, Gauri was seen in a pink one-shouldered Monisha Jaising gown. Given the beach location, the gown itself felt overkill (especially considering that she wore beach sandals) and the styling, way under.

Gauri would’ve fared better if she’d picked one of Ms. Jaising’s kurta looks.
