Doing Denim
At the trailer launch of her movie, Rani gave us bit of a start in her distressed denims, tank and white jacket. A Rocio clutch and Jimmy Choo sandals finished out her look. Quite the departure from what we’ve come to expect from her. Of course, an upcoming movie means we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of the actor and it’d be interesting to see how she’s styled on the promo tour!
Shop the clutch here and the sandals, here.

Wohooo..is it the marriage that changed her ?? 😛 that clucth look more like a “kamandal” ( IYKWIM) :P:P
She is wearing watch on right hand…doesn’t gals wear watch on left hand??
Are u seriously asking this question??
For a second, I thought Rani herself typed the reply in disbelief! Bahahaha…Rana mistook you for Rani…hmmm…or maybe it really was her in disguise 😉
I always wear it on my right hand and I am a girl!
Let’s not gender stereotype 🙂
Lots of left-handed people wear their watch on their right hand because it’s more comfortable for them. Pretty sure it’s not a gender thing!
Apart from wearing my watch on my left wrist, I also tend to tilt slightly to my left when I walk. I hope other women follow suit. About time.
LMAO!
Shes wearing watch on her right, cos on ler left wrist shes wearing the iron bangle most bengali women have to wear post marriage 🙂
i’m not a great fan of people wearing their watch on the right wrist !!
LOL! But this look is ghastly. She looks stubby and short, as though she was walking on stilts.
that is because she is representing a “mard” here
I don’t know in theory this should work. Something isn’t working for me here though.
Emmm didnt work for me, make up & hair style-thumbs down.
And this is not wthey?
Can you id the jacket?
I am not a fan of distressed jeans, so not feeling the look at all. If she had worn dark skinny jeans and changed nothing the whole look would have been classier. That said, this woman has a gorgeous face.
those bangs look lovely on her!
Yes, they do!
I like that she stuck to a simple outfit. But i feel like something in her jacket is adding unnecessary bulk. At the shoulders?
Not working one bit. Too many colors. And her square dial watch is not going with this look, a chunky chrono would have worked better. Weird clutch.
Loooooove her shoes!!!!
Her fringe really suits her. I like. Haven’t seen her look this good in a while.
Not feeling this one bit. My biggest gripe is with those pants which dont fit well, and that blazer which is adding bulk. Could have been more put together. But, hey, she looks confident. Looking forward to seeing her more often.
i get she is trying to go for a refreshing younger look, but it really doesn’t work. her hair is great, but those shoes that blazer with those jeans, just doesn’t work. but nonetheless, i’m excited about her new movie, a very important topic!
The clutch looks like a bedpan
This. THIS!
I love this look – it’s stylish and fresh and the shoes are great and it’s a nice departure from what Rani normally wears. The bag’s a bit weird. Something about it reminds of a minion from Despicable Me. I love the fringe but it frustrates me that Indian women hold onto their excessively long hair, especially as they get older. How great would she look with that fringe and a sleek long bob blowdried straight and sharp through the front? So many of our actresses could use a hair cut – Sonakshi Sinha and Shraddha Kapoor jump to mind. Long and healthy does not mean stylish…just saying.
I feel edgy black shoes would have gone better. Now, the watch-which is meant to catch one’s attention- is standing out a bit much because it’s clashing with the shoes. It would have stood out yet blended in with black shoes. Also, she cannot carry off those shoes, the colour looks very tacky on her. The shoes would’ve looked much better minus the watch. But overall, must say it’s good to see her dress differently. Thesis over.
Such a refreshing change! Thank Gudness! The elements are not going well together. Spearately the shoes and the clutch are very striking. With that face and haircut she sure makes a cute picture!
Relaxed yet chic look but she should left that bag/clutch behind and maybe black shoes would have maybe put the look better together
LOVE the accessories – those shoes are hot and the clutch is cute
hate the distressed denims – they really don’t go with the superchic accessories and the nice jacket
Like the jacket and the top is ok
But what i love most of all – that she didn’t feel the need to dress up as a new bride and went the total opposite way. Go Rani! (I assume the clothes go with the character in the movie)
I guess I’m in the minority here, but I think she looks really odd…nothing about this look is working for me
No u r not in the minority ……. She does look odd. Trying too hard to look young and cool.Rani looks her best in saris.
You are not in minority…I dislike this look…I am surprised this is not a wthey…I have hardly seen women above 30 carry distressed denims with grace…The denims look tacky…
I would have preferred to leave out the yellow sling bag..it just doesn’t go. Instead take a small black clutch or may be nothing at all.Hated the yellow sling.
She should stick to INDIAN wear! This look is totally wannabe on her! A big thumbs down!
she’s looks so good.. a refreshing look from her after a while, clearly being Mrs Chopra is working wonders! but but my instant thought was why is she carrying in that clutch/purse thing? and what is in it? (especially considering the event was at YRF studios itself!!) 😉 😀
That is a good look on her (minus the clutch). I am glad that she is doing something different from her usual style.
She is channeling her character in her new movie.. same hairstyle thus the bangs.
I think she looks nice..barring the clutch. Maybe dark non distressed denims would have upped the look further.
