As soon as the Met Gala dress code is unveiled, planning starts for all would-be guests on what to wear. Ms. Ambani alongwith stylist Anaita picked Rahul Mishra to create a custom look for her which eventually was a gold sari with an extended pallu featuring the designer’s floral appliques. A photoshoot ahead of the event was also held as is the norm now.
Except, Isha never got to attend the event but a choice was made to release the photoshoot pics and details about the sari. From a designer’s perspective, I can understand releasing the video and images because it was a custom design with a particular dress code in mind. I just hope that this isn’t the only sighting of this sari. I hope Isha gives us a real life view of this sari perhaps at a different event just because all that labor deserves an outing.
