Doing Black: A ‘Not Quite’ Edition

We have some ‘Not Quite’s on our hands, don’t we?

Love the silhouette on Arpita; it sure is an interesting dress. Am not one for ruffles, but it does add some interest to an otherwise simple dress. Having said that, I still would’ve preferred the dress minus the ruffles but that’s just my personal taste.

As for Minissha, I can’t look past those shoes.

Golden Girl: Part Deux

For someone whose sense of dress-up is leggings, keds and a crazy tee/top, am actually taken back that M.I.A made some effort and donned something other to the 2010 Costume Institute Gala. It was reported that she would wear an Alexander Wang for Gap outfit but I very much doubt that this creation is one. Am gonna guess that it’s just an Alexander Wang creation.

On anyone else, this would be a WTHeyyy but she with her I-freaking-rock-this-look attitude actually makes it work. Just goes to show that sometimes it’s the wearer that makes an outfit.

Update: It is an Alexander Wang For Gap one of a kind creation and will be auctioned off Here beginning May 5th.

Golden Girl

Forget Oscars, in my opinion, the best event for seeing fabulous gowns on the red carpet is the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Yearly Costume Institute Gala. And so you can imagine why I am horribly disappointed to see Padma in this peachy/gold bustier gown. If the color wasn’t bad enough, oh-my-god at the feathers! What a letdown.

We won’t be covering the fabulous others (and there were many) but you can catch a full coverage of who-wears-what on our favorite blog Here. Move over Queenie, I think Padma just took your spot for looking worse in gold.

Update:Padma is wearing Roberto Cavalli. Thanks ‘Laveena’ for the news tip-off.

In A Phase

She loves her florals doesn’t she? I do like the dress on the left; it’s fun and she sure wears it well.

All That Glitters…

Neither of these gold dresses pass muster but Madhoo does fare sooo much better in comparison to Queenie who seems to be on a one woman mission to revive all that was wrong with an era bygone. Can almost picture her outfit (and hair) on a back-up dancer in one of those eighties movies with a ‘disco’ influenced soundtrack.

So, so dated.
