Seeing Red

Keeping it simple at the Dubai World Cup was new mum Aishwarya in a flared red Sabyasachi suit and a sequin dupatta. We think she looked good.

  1. you know, she can’t and she shouldn’t throw those anarkalis. She is dressing like any post-child mother would dress. Dressing to cover the extra pounds you add during pregnancy and delivery. Not everyone can lose the weight in a week like every one claims to and not everyone would want to go under the knife immediately after having a baby to get a flat tummy.
She looks like a woman in her late 30’s and that’s who she is and good for her. Who cares how she looks, more power to her for traveling post-partum ;).

  2. the red looks nice on her but her dress choices off late are not good….weight gain doesnot mean covering from top to bottom in fabric.

    • Methinks Ash has not “embraced” her new body type. Instead of experimenting with saris or anything else she just hides under those tents. Sure, they are Sabya tents but still tents!

She was never much of a risk taker with clothes. Thankfully, she remains one of the most beautiful women in the world and mostly looks good!

  3. You would have thought this would be a winning combination – this doesn’t even look like a sabyasachi. The colour, material , cut are doing her no favours. Wish she had picked something else.

  4. Its heartening to see supposedly ‘the most beautiful’ woman go through the paces of motherhood! She is human after all!…She has sleepless nights, puts on weight and doesnt shed it THAT easily!

  5. The colour is very nice, and the suit is elegant on its own, but she seems to be drowning in it, and it makes her look short. Imagine what it would do to people who are not 5’7″.

  7. love everything feet up. WHAT is up with those SHOES?!?!??!?!?!?! is there some sort of relationship between mommyhood and hideous shoes coz this is the third time I am seeing her with such a hideous pair post-baby.

  8. I’m convinced that most of the people commenting on her footwear and the anarkalis have not had kids! Pregnancy brings about a bunch of hormonal changes, swollen feet, you wear flats because you have more weight to carry and heels are no longer as comfy as they used to be and you might even carry your child. I don’t see why flats can’t be smart anyway.
Kudos to her for setting a great example of being a healthy mother instead of just a fashion plate. I remember a supermodel who was back on the ramp 18 days after delivery. I thought that was the most awful example to be setting to women. Really, your baby is 18 days old, you’re struggling with night feeds and diapers and the world thinks your waist should be 26 inches again?
Sheesh. We’re just getting more shallow everyday.

  9. Considering all those Motherhood-supporters,
Ash never had a personal style of her own, and if she wasn’t this extremely conscious of her body, she wold fare much better .She just can’t drown in yards of cloth call it any brand!!She needs to embrace her motherhood days with much more grace than caution.!!

  10. There’s such a thing as too much red. This is quite garish especially for the time of the day. Someone from the industry should seriously offer to help her out with her outfits.

  11. There are a lot of intelligent people on this site. Nice to know some people have a heart. You should see some of the things people say about her on other blogs. I mostly blame the media. Anyways I don’t know about this look it’s definitely better than the l’oreal femina awards dress, but this is not what I would have picked for her, but glad she picked an Indian designer at this event. Aishwarya has been getting a lot of flack for choosing western designers at Cannes, but she has no choice she has to as she’s representing l’oreal not India. Btw these 2 pics are not the most flattering I think she looks better than this from what I saw in the other pics.
