With designer Manish Malhotra presenting a fashion show at the Filmfare Nominations party, you had to have at least one sighting of his design on the red carpet and it came via Ms. Tandon.

She wore a gown featuring an all-over geometric pattern and picking up on the main color finished it out with a blue satin Ferragamo clutch and contrasted with a pink lip.

At first glance, I found the high ponytail a bit severe but in some pics, it didn’t look so bad.

Designer Manish Malhotra threw a party on Friday evening in honor of fashion critic Suzy Menkes, who is in India currently. In attendance was close friend Sophie wearing a fringe top by the designer with black pants, her Gianvito Rossi pumps and Bottega Veneta knot clutch.

I am guessing the beige top comes with a lehenga and so it was nice to see it re-purposed.

Ditching the usual gown, Sridevi opted for a custom sequin Manish Malhotra pantsuit to wear to the Stardust Awards. Hair in a wet sleek do, her look was finished out with a nude clutch and gold Louboutins.

Going for the smoky eyes helped make this look pop. On someone else, this look would feel OTT but she pulls it off with ease. No?

Jacqueline was among the many celebrities spotted at Manish’s Birthday do, and one of the few to wear an outfit by the designer. On paper, the jumpsuit is a perfect fit for Jacqueline, if any one can sell quirky with a liberal dash of whimsy/fun, it is her. Not this time though, whatever she is selling, I am not buying. That jumpsuit, despite Ms. Fernandez’s valiant efforts, just didn’t work. Not a fan.

Wearing His Own

Designer Manish Malhotra celebrated his 50th birthday on Monday and was thrown a huge party by good friend Karan Johar. Sunday evening, he hosted his own party at his residence with close family and friends and of course, wore his own design.

Our very best wishes to him. ( Now, if he could just tell us the location of this fountain of youth that he seems to be drinking from, because you can clearly see he does not look fifty one bit!)
