Giving us our first sighting of a desi on the Cannes red carpet was Mallika at the premiere of ‘Grace Of Monaco’ wearing an Emilio Pucci lace gown.

From her first appearances at the annual festival, Ms. Sherwat has really toned it down and this appearance was no different. She looked nice but, I don’t think the gown is Cannes-worthy. Especially considering we’ve seen so many lace numbers of late.

For the taping of the Bachelorette finale, Mallika picked a lime green Anita Dongre lehenga. Instead of wearing the beautiful choli that was presented on the runway with a very similar lehenga , she picked a gold woven one that was not only tacky but also ill-fitted.

Mallika At Cannes 2013: amfAR’s 20th Annual Cinema Against AIDS

For the amfAr gala, Mallika opted for Dolce & Gabbana again, this time in a lace full-sleeve gown featuring a full skirt.

Am not sure if the gown is designed that way or lost its shape on the way there, but the skirt part just looked weird. (This is after looking at many more pics that you can look at as well out here.

But, the skirt was just half the issue. The lace bodice instead of looking sexy just ended up looking matronly.

This one didn’t even come close to her Inside Llewyn Davis red carpet look.

Mallika walked the red carpet again at Cannes, this time in a strapless Dolce & Gabbana. Her full-skirted lace gown might be a familiar DG look but am not complaining because she looked darn good.

Not only was this the much better look from the Pucci but holey-moley, is this the same woman who wore this!

Also in attendance at Cannes was Mallika who walked the red carpet in a gold beaded dress by Emilio Pucci. Accessorizing her look with gold and diamond cuffs, gold earrings, a gold clutch and silver sandals, Mallika mixed her metals. An updo and red lips finished out her look.

The look may be an improvement on many of her appearances but we aren’t fans of the gown itself. Besides, we didn’t think the mixing of metals was very successful.
