Spotted Nandita Mahtani at the unveiling of Lakme Fashion Week’s designers and sponsors. And while she was as usual impeccably turned out, it was hard not to notice the Bottega Veneta Cabat that she was carrying that almost made us skip a beat!
Its no secret we love the Birkin but a close second is Bottega Veneta for its sophisticated, understated, timeless appeal, and it always surprises me when I see people carry the over-logo’fied junk out there over the more understated yet way more chic choices. Both Payal and I own Bottegas (not the Cabat though, but it sure is on our wish list!) and don’t think we ever, ever get tired of them!

If you thought that influences of the ‘garden-variety’ were limited to the clothes in the Spring 2008 collections, you are wrong! The inevitable happened and the influence tipped over onto accessories as well.
Thankfully, not much of that happened because no matter what they say, I just don’t think lugging around a floral bag that costs $$$$ is fashionable! But some of these shoes were cute (ooh, Blahnik!!)…as were some of the pieces of jewellery that I saw, again, emphasis on ‘some’!!

Leiber has just been named the most prestigious handbag brand in the 2007 Luxury Brand Status Index (LBSI) survey. Hermès and Prada came in second and third places, respectively. The fact that Prada edged out Bottega Veneta and Chanel surprises me a bit, especially considering the fact that it was Bottega Veneta that was named the most prestigious handbag brand in the 2006 Luxury Brand Status Index (LBSI) survey, just last year!
