Reception Style
Rashmika and Vijay had their wedding reception in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening where the former was seen in a silk red sari woven by Madhurya and embellished by Jade and black border paired with gold jewellery and the latter in a white silk kurta and silver zari veshti and matching shawl.
P.S. This cannot be called a Mysore Silk sari because that is GI tagged and only Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (a govt. enterprise) can sell them. Thanks to harshavardhan.rai for clarifying!

Super love, this entire wedding look book for giving a very rich in Indian aesthetic marriage, was missing it for a while looks so much it looks like a flashback into Indian royalty weddings.
There is an incredibly sweet simplicity about this gorgeous. Love the Mysore silk (likely a homage to her Kannadiga roots). The glorious red saree, draped beautifully with gold jewelry is resplendent. Wouldn’t change a thing. Guests (Amala, Upasana etc) also looked very super elegant without resorting to OTT bling…this is something that’s utterly missing at giant bollywood OTT weddings where guests determinedly go about vulgarly upstaging the bride or look like they came straight from item song numbers sets in garish costumes that blind the eye.
This reception looks liek a breath of fresh air! The couple look very very nice, chashme badoor!
I think it’s best to praise what we like without comparisons.
Respectfully disagree. It begs for comparison at the simple yet classy look about this whole wedding, after the awful blinding bling overload we are used to being served at big fat bollywood weddings (Yami gautham’s aside!)
She is looking beautiful and like royalty. It’s wonderful to see a wedding with vibrant colours and not pastels
Finally the bride shines more than the groom. Love it.
Haha.. really? I thought they both shone equally at this wedding.
so much better than the cape and sharara bling. this wedding actually looked like the couple loved every moment of it and all the festivities around it!
Loving this modern day Thevar Magan aesthetic. I wish Vijay had worn a regular white khadi shirt and a gold chain. The oxidized necklace doesn’t fit the look.
Nice to see Rashmika pick a classic Mysore silk saree to highlight her roots. They used to be such a fixture in every South Indian woman’s wardrobe before silk prices skyrocketed.
OMG I was wondering where I’ve seen this look before. You nailed it. From his mustache to the outfit, it’s Thevar Magan coded.
They’re working on a movie together and this is his look in that movie.
I think he’s worn so much gold that I am loving this silver look. It matches the metal on his watch. Just perfect, if you ask me.
how much longer will this wedding go on? she’s cute for sure but enough already
Wedding, sangeet, puja and reception. I think thats standard for most weddings
havent there been two weddings, two receptions, a sangeet an engagement and goodness knows how many arrival and departure photo ops..Are these two even such big stars? I had never heard of them until those original (beautiful) wedding shots
Oh no why am I seeing some random South star instead of Bwood nepo kids who we all know so well!!
FYI she was in Chhava, Animal, Pushpa which were actual high grossers.
RM-VD look good here. Her mum wore a pretty saree Coorg style. The aesthetics of this wedding were largely top notch.
A sangeet is not a traditional part of a South Indian wedding. It is very much adopted from North Indian / Punjab, especially since sangeets have been popularised by Bollywood.
This is a fashion blog . So as long as they serve looks , doesnt matter how many ceremonies , they will be featured . The kind of fan following , social media presence and brand endorsements they both have , this is expected .
Also , you maybe living under a rock if you didnt know them . If youve been following this blog , you should have seen RM featured so many times .
This is the most traditional looking reception outfit I have seen, even among non-celebs. A couple with unique tastes indeed. I love it.
Such a needed relief from the garish over the top blingy diamond studded stuff seen at the Ambani and typical Bollywood weddings. Absolutely love this classic understated look. Traditional and true to the core values and tastes of the region.
Rashmika makes for a resplendent and glowing bride. Best wishes to them both for a long and successful married life.
Rashmika looked like beautiful bride – not a Sabya Bride, or a MM Bride or brand name labelled bride. Loved all her wedding looks and husband is dapper as well.
Looks like a modified Mysore Silk saree . There seems to be an extra gold lace or something attached to the saree edge near the border . Traditional Mysore Silk borders dont have that . I am guessing it could be her mom’s saree which may have been modified .
She looks beautiful though . The drape , jewellery and makeup is spot on . Even her hair was braided till the end with red roses added to it . Looked lovely.
VD looks good except for the unbuttoned look
Thank you Universe
For not bringing any of the overpriced Bollywood duds called designers Sabya Manish Ritu Anu Sonu Bonu
Whatever
Every outfit was gorgeous. She is a class act in style
Oh come on! A lit of these designers like Sabya and MM did bring in novelty and some very memorable designs and looks . They have been over exposed , copied , imitated and trickled down to smaller everyday brands now . That does not make them duds .
Rashmika looks stunning! Tasteful and glowy.
Only complaint I have in her look is, the red saree with black boarder itself is beautiful, it didn’t needed that extra chatak chamkila extra boarder.
Hahahah yup . I think the Mysore Silk looked gorgeous as-is . Im thinking its vintage or her m/grandmom’s . Waiting for Payal or her stylist to confirm
What is this pearl embedded jewellery that Rekha always adorns called Payal? Resembles Kundan but I always imagined Kundan to be a North Indian thing. Never been a fan of temple jewellery but love these guttapusalu and satlada kinds
I think you’re talking about jadau. But, I need a pic to confirm
Ohh is it? … again I thought Jadau also had Rajasthani origins
I can’t confirm unless I look at the exact piece you are referring to.
Its called gutta pusalu
