Simone On Mission Ustad

I am really torn on Simone’s outfit. As much as I like the style and the colors, somehow I think the length of the kameez makes her look short. What I would love to do is take that kameez, snip of the sleeves and pair it with some hot stilettos and that would look goood!

What do y’all think of Simone?

We Are "Naach"ing Now, Mads!

Pardon the Hinglish. We were just wondering if Madhuri is reading our blog too? We just posted about her getting into some trendy designer clothes and now look at her! She showed up on the Nach Baliye sets out and about in an Anarkali style Salwar-Kameez! Now, we are definitely mad about “Mads” now!

Diwali Ready?

The choicest Indian clothes are out and about and the festive season is resplendent with beautiful traditional clothes, one better than the other! But if you don’t know what you should be buying, read on!

A must-have this season: Churidaar sleeves. Most designers are doing them in diaphanous chiffons giving it that translucent, delicate feel! I love it! If what worries you is the fact that you might not like these sleeves for too long, then worry not. They are going to be around for a while! However, if the romance does fizzle out for you, all you have to do is take them in to your trusted tailor and have the sleeves cut off to turn it into a sleeveless Kameez or have shorter sleeves attached!

The next big trend this season is the Anarkali style Salwar-Kameez! It looks great and fits wonderfully on all body-types (very flattering for those downward problem areas) and you can’t resist a twirl in it!

A Look Vs. Another Look: Part Deux

We spotted Konkona Sen Sharma and Dia Mirza looking refreshing in white at the Middle Eastern International Film Festival held in Abu Dhabi. While Konkona wore a white lace sari with silver accessories, Dia chose a salwar kameez with gold accents.

Day 5: Swapan And Seema

Swapan and Seema’s collection was dominated by Indian clothes; saris, salwar-kameezes, lehengas and some dresses with Indian influences. Color pallette for the most part stayed muted and delicate but I loved the brown that they used…

The collection didn’t stray far from the tried and tested and was really safe. Saris were delicate and lehengas stayed fresh because they weren’t overworked! Some of the longer dresses were a surprise, they were simple and chic! And short day dresses were cute and young!

But like I said, the collection was very safe, and so, not much did stand out! This was yet another show that was way too safe and uninspired which is turning out to be a bit characteristic of quite a few shows I’ve been watching.
