The chikan suit with silver zari is absolutely beautiful! And the way Sara’s styled it is perfect!

Have a generic question…AFAIK, chikan suits have been there for ages. Just wondering and not as a slight to anyone who wears it….is there something new in the way it is now from say 20 years ago? I don’t get the hoopla over Sara wearing these suits…is it because other stars were earlier not seen wearing these as they were, maybe, too simple for them and that Sara seems to be using that as her style statement?
Why over analyse.. I think it’s her usual style and looks really good. Suits/sarees can look different on different people, totally a thing of your own tastes. Also, post 90s most people wear western outfits, which remains unquestioned like its their original.
Was just curious for the resurgence and interest in chikan suits now. Have nothing against Sara wearing them. Wanted to know if there was something different from how they were from back in 90s. Sorry, if it came across over-analyzing or rude…not the intention. As far as western outfits and for that matter even various versions of sarees, I can see differences in the way they are either styled or how the overall look they appear from what they have been over the years.

Re: Chikan suits – it’s getting tougher to lay hands on authentic chikan these days. A lot of the stuff available nowadays is either machine made, or on synthetic or synthetic-blend fabrics. So yeah, sadly, as is the case with a lot of our heritage crafts, there is a difference in how the craft is produced now compared to say 20years ago.
As to why people like this particular suit, maybe just because it’s a classic 🙂 That’s my reason anyway.

And yes she does she look very good in Indian suits. Its like a style she sports really well. Like Vidya does it very well with sarees, Katrina does it well with simple dresses, Sara does it really well with Suits!
