In Manish Malhotra

Sara attended the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations wearing a red salwar kurta from Manish Malhotra. Ms. Khan was trying to project the keeping-it-simple-and-carefree image but to me the outfit felt very disconnected between that long necklace and the bangles stack.

Did you like?

  1. Any day this over ananya pandeys absolutely sloppily draped saree or shanaya with her girls out in a skimpy choli for such a traditional occasion.
    Any preferred day!
Call me behenji or whatever you like 😀

Biased, much? Ms. Khan’s personality may just be simple and carefree, I don’t see her dressed up much more than this at most times so why should we assume she’s “projecting” it?
I would take this (long necklace and bangle stack included) over the earlier Shanaya and Ananya sightings any time.

  3. Loving the commentary Payal! Though Sara does look nice and more event appropriate than her peers, I too feel that her appearances have been a PR exercise of appearing simple and disconnected. Rather than it being organically her own

    • This is how millions of women dress in India or even outside India for festivities. What is non- organic about it or how would someone make it organic? I don’t think any regular woman would be wearing Sarees that Shanaya/ Ananya wore to festivities especially religious ones

  4. That’s kinda harsh. What’s with all this “projecting” simplicity? She dresses this way many times and it’s very event appropriate. The bangles and chain work with the look. Her contemporaries are “projecting” sexiness with skimpy bra blouses, at Ganesha Chaturthi, now that needs to be called out! Sara looks quite nice 🙂

    • She often wears a stack of bangles, Juttis and dupattas in her casual looks. I think this is her style, she’s comfortable and looks it. I don’t think she’s projecting anything other than happiness and being comfortable in her own skin. I think this is what you should be calling wearing a look well.

  6. Not everybody needs to dress according to their day job everytime. PR or not, this looks like a human spotted in the midst of copy-paste advertisements.
