Anushka celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi at home and was spotted wearing a kanjivaram sari from Gaurang. We’ve seen Ms. Sharma wear benarasi to an awards function and her wedding reception a while back and so when it comes to handlooom weaves that is as far as I thought she might foray into I never in a million years expected to see her in a kanji but I am not complaining. She looked absolutely lovely.

Love the saree.. but that is too wide a border for her to carry it off… the saree is not visible near the pallu at all… just the border.. takes the beauty out of the saree… a slight miss… even though she looks beautiful

To highlight the face
It’s the opposite of the aishwarya hide your face look.
You need great bone structure to pull off the tight bun so they flaunt it
Gorgeous. I don’t like my sarees so perfectly pleated and pinned but I guess this is heavy.
Lovely, the make up is more like sun burnt, it still suits the sunset tones overall.
You can wear a traditional weave and still have fun with it and make it look lighter. No need being so stiff.

Anushka was raised in Bengaluru, so like lots of other women in the south, I can see why she’d favour a Kanchipuram sari (even if it’s a ‘designed’ one).
