Keeping It Simple

Sara kept it simple wearing a pink suit to the Trivedi-Mantena reception. She looked nice, but to me, the kurta suit was a bit too simple for the event in question. What did you think?

  1. Still better than being over dressed, may be the memo is to keep it simple. Also this dress is not too different from what Saba wore. Didn’t see this comment there?!

    • Yes surprised by that observation. It is as simple/discreetly elegant as Saba’s.

Truly the queen of the salwar kameez. More than the clothes I am struck by the ease with which she wears it.

      • Saba added the mang tikka and it made a worlds difference in how festive she looked.
At the same time, no denying , Sara also looks very wonderful (yet normal)

  2. This is what normal people in India will wear to a relative or colleague’s wedding function.

Nothing celebrity worthy or designer. It is a regular salwar suit you’d find across India.

She looks nice and the styling is good. Love the color.

  3. This comment about being too simple from P&P threw me off. How much garishness we see day in and day out on this website at wedding related events . I think we should totally celebrate the fact that a up and coming actress chose to dress “normal” and did not use it as an opportunity to overdress given easy access to designers and hair and make up crew. She came to a wedding as a guest and that’s about it. That’s what a million of us do at weddings.

  4. This is perfectly normal – she looks great, for someone else’s reception.
I think we have seen enough of Bollywood guests in attire as extravagant as the bride’s – time to appreciate not being OTT.

  5. The bride and the groom and the whole setup looks simple… or rather elegant without being loud. This fits the bill. Very appropriate for summer wedding.

  6. I actually found it interesting to compare notes between Sara’s look and Saba’s. I agree that Saba looks more dressed up so the question is why.
Saba is wearing heels, Sara’s flats are more casual. Saba’s churidar is fitted va. Sara loose one. Finally the maang tikka on Saba takes it up a notch.
Regardless, I love how both of them look like guests as opposed to the bride herself.

  7. Yes fact is its very simple for an Indian reception. Different earrings and/or adding a necklace/chain would have made the look more festive.
But she looks pleasant and nice (reminded of the 90’s Sridevi and Madhuri appearances when they dressed simple yet so pleasing to eyes), given most of the looks are OOT or Crazy designs with bizarre cuts or cape’s etc.
Also seems like dress code is simple and Not OTT given the bride also kept it relatively simple.
