India Inspired: Tory Burch Resort 2011

Considering t’is the season of Fall 2011, we understand talking about Resort 2011 almost feels like a blast from the past. Well, let’s chalk it up to our laziness and move on, shall we? :p

Tory Burch’s Resort 2011 was inspired by the designer’s trip to Rajasthan. And if you are looking for the stereo-typical points of inspiration like certain prints or kitschy combinations, you’ll be disappointed. Though, the odd paisely here and there was hard to get away from.

We love the way Tory does prints and colors, so this collection was no different. But as much as we loved the ready-to-wear, the jewelry was hard to get excited about. The sea-shells and neon beads seem more Anjuna than Jodhpur. Yes, we get she drew the bright colors as her inspiration but, still not a favorite of ours.

In a simple civil ceremony at their home, Lara and Mahesh made it official with Lara in a beige Ritu Kumar sari and Mahesh a khaki suit.

Don’t worry, more elaborate clothes are planned for the festivities that are happening in Goa, this weekend. From what we read, for the sangeet it’s going to be a Manav Gangwani and for the church wedding, an Elie Saab. (via Mid-day.)

By now, you’ve all probably read/heard that the Peacocks were brought in to design one outfit for Britney to wear in the “Hold It Against Me” video.

After seeing the 30-sec sneak peek, it looks like we have not one but two designs by the duo on Ms. Spears. (We suspect the blue one is one.)

The video releases on Friday but that wasn’t the only Peacock spotting for today. Last night, Peacock aficionado Hofit Golan was spotted in yet another creation by the designer duo. Catch her inside.
