Of Outings

Natasha was seen at the BoF500 Gala in a Harris Reed look featuring a dramatic head gear. It’s never half measures for Mrs. Poonawalla and she did wear it well. Having said that though, I personally, am not loving the whole bleached eyebrow trend that she has been sporting recently. Her other whimsical look was in a Giambattista Valli couture gown that she wore to the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres Ceremony where Mr. Valli was felicitated.

She attended other presentation as well wearing a Victoria Beckham dress to the label’s show and a Dolce & Gabbana dress to the Louboutin event.

  1. I love her fashion. She is doing it for herself, unlike movie stars who have to maintain an audience and an image. We would all possibly dress like this if we had the money and the autonomy.

    • no issues with the first sentence — but please, the second is unacceptably obsequious and obnoxious. she uses fashion to express her whimsy and devotes significant resources to it. no issues with that — but please lets not paint all of us consumers of fashion with the same brush.

      • Sorry, let me rephrase myself. ‘God alone knows how we would all dress if we had as much money and autonomy’.

I meant that if we had the resources and no audience, all our creative juices would flow in so many different directions.

  2. I can’t imagine any actor trying these kind of avant garde styles without it being severely criticised. She has the audacity to take risks and whilst I personally think the Harris Reed would look more impactful without the hat (which I find a bit of overkill) I do respect how adventurous she is when it comes to fashion which is a rare trait among Indians.
And no, I’m not referring to her budget or the choice of expensive clothes but rather the way she puts it together.
Even if you look at images of her back in 2006, (obviously she still had solid resources but arguably not close to as much as now) she was very experimental pre the social media age.

  3. I give it to her for experimenting and how!
She has very individualistic style, it is risky & very very interesting.
It mostly works and sometimes it does not; but I will take this anyday over the cut-copy-paste styling jobs happening on other celebs.

  4. Meh. Its boring and ridiculous. So much money. So little taste. Am I the only one to notice the emperor is not wearing any clothes?

  5. She definitely likes her fashion haute and wears it with ease.

What is considered high fashion for the stratospherically rich has historically verged on the ridiculous though and unfortunately these are no exception.

  6. I absolutely love how OTT she always is! True, some of the looks are a bit of a fail, but that’s part of the whole deal I guess. If you have the time and resources and most importantly places to be where you can be ridiculously dressed up, why not!
