Black Out

Wearing a risque black gown, Malaika attended the Akhtar-Dandekar party. Look, there’s a lot Malaika can sell but this gown just wasn’t it. Given the occasion in question, baffled she picked this to wear… Should’ve saved it for the GQ Awards instead. As it stands, this merits a WTHeyyy!!!

  1. Totally agree…what was she thinking?
If it was lined maybe she stood a chance but this is actually a glorified swimsuit.

Have to say though, the entire Kapoor clan, other Kapoor clan and Kapoors-to-be were truly dressed in their signature styles (or lack of) at this party
    Karishma – Classy
    Kareena – Trying-too-hard-to-look-sexy
    Malaika – Trashy
Amrita – 5-year-old playing dress up
(You guys should post that pic of all 4 posing in the parking lot, it’s hilarious)
    Tara – Minimalism (in clothing)
I could go on but let the pictures speak for themselves.

When Farah Khan and Zoya Akhtar are one of the better turned out looks of the night, I’m definitely questioning what’s going on in Bollywood.

    Cheers to GUTS!

        • Was waiting for this comment. Let’s be honest, seems inappropriate to a wedding party esp if you’re not the bride and don’t want to divert attention but I think she looks super fit and glam. I don’t see Hollywood celebs getting dissed for wearing such clothes because they see beyond this and focus on the style and fashion. If this looks makes the looker cringe, conscious or uncomfortable, it’s not the wearer’s problem, is it? You don’t like it, don’t look at it.

  4. Ok I went back and looked at every post showing people that attended this event. I think the dress code is black cocktail. Tara and Malaika obviously went risque, Karishma obviously kept it classy and timeless, and Deepika and Kareena went with classy and trendy.

  5. I’m actually afraid to see how crass the comments will be.

Let’s criticize the dress, not the person, people. And definitely not “all women” please.

  6. “Less is more” does not work here!!! Trashy outfit considering its an after-wedding party for the newlyweds.

Why steal the attention (and I don’t mean it in a good way) from the new bride :/

  7. A friend of mine told me a cliched line, sometimes a woman is another woman’s enemy.

Dragging someone down because they decide to show their skin. Tut tut. The kind of comments that have been posted for Deepika too in the past. Hiding behind the cloak of anonymity and throwing garbage.

    • I’m not sure if hiding behind anonymity.. identity is disclosed as per each platform.. username here, and profiles ids in whatever social network people chose to “throw garbage from”. Yes some comments are vile, maybe just avoid those.
Some are only critique of clothes, not the person, for all /most stars, not just Deepika.

  9. I also genuinely want to know how she feels comfortable walking around at a party like this. And before people attack me, I absolutely believe that women can and must dress however they want. The issue with this gown is it borders on malfunction with the barely there underwear completely visible. If I was her, I would constantly be concerned about adjusting my underwear to make sure my buttocks weren’t totally out!!!

  10. Jaw drop. To a wedding party?! How can one walk around in that dress chatting with other guests? I feel self conscious wearing a choli that’s a bit low and here’s Malaika choosing to wear that, walk out into a waiting car, walk past cameras, wave to hosts, and line up for food. I can’t picture the whole thing without shrinking and she actually did it.
