Black Out
Wearing a risque black gown, Malaika attended the Akhtar-Dandekar party. Look, there’s a lot Malaika can sell but this gown just wasn’t it. Given the occasion in question, baffled she picked this to wear… Should’ve saved it for the GQ Awards instead. As it stands, this merits a WTHeyyy!!!

Tackiness !
Of next level!!
Such a beautiful woman. Such tacky choices.
Honestly such a beautiful woman… why does she do this to herself?! (Cringes)
Totally agree…what was she thinking?
If it was lined maybe she stood a chance but this is actually a glorified swimsuit.
Have to say though, the entire Kapoor clan, other Kapoor clan and Kapoors-to-be were truly dressed in their signature styles (or lack of) at this party
Karishma – Classy
Kareena – Trying-too-hard-to-look-sexy
Malaika – Trashy
Amrita – 5-year-old playing dress up
(You guys should post that pic of all 4 posing in the parking lot, it’s hilarious)
Tara – Minimalism (in clothing)
I could go on but let the pictures speak for themselves.
When Farah Khan and Zoya Akhtar are one of the better turned out looks of the night, I’m definitely questioning what’s going on in Bollywood.
Cheers to GUTS!
I agree with you 1000%
LOL…spot on. And it’s hilarious to say “ Should’ve saved it for the GQ Awards instead”, so it’s ok to still your a$$ out at a much public event??
Yep it’s ok to “stick your a$$ out” at the GQ awards. If you don’t like it, don’t look at it.
Was waiting for this comment. Let’s be honest, seems inappropriate to a wedding party esp if you’re not the bride and don’t want to divert attention but I think she looks super fit and glam. I don’t see Hollywood celebs getting dissed for wearing such clothes because they see beyond this and focus on the style and fashion. If this looks makes the looker cringe, conscious or uncomfortable, it’s not the wearer’s problem, is it? You don’t like it, don’t look at it.
Kendall got dissed majorly for wearing the black cutout dress to a friend’s wedding/wedding party. It’s not just the Indians.
I know , it’s not appropriate for the event in question but she looks good . If it’s Jlo then we say oh look at that hot bod at 40-ish something. I do not get the janta here on this fashion blog !!
Yuck! Is that a cover up on a swimsuit worn as a dress.. she looks gorgeous but oh then the clothes
What is going on with her?! She used to be the OG of truly sexy looks. Seems to be more around trampy looks not even tastefully done. Sad
Only goddess malaika arora could carry this outfit. uffffff, look at that incredibly damn damn perfect body. she knows that she has the best body and look at that confidence with which she poses to the camera. Stunning to the Core.
I love Malaika. But this.
:/
Here’s a perfect candidate for what the heyyyyy, ladies and gentlemen…
Also, this semi sheer bottom design is so 2018! Wow, that’s almost half a decade old…
Without doubt Malaika has the oomph factor and figure to carry this gown , but wrong occasion..
I would love to know what the dress code was for this event!
Ok I went back and looked at every post showing people that attended this event. I think the dress code is black cocktail. Tara and Malaika obviously went risque, Karishma obviously kept it classy and timeless, and Deepika and Kareena went with classy and trendy.
This entire event should be a mandatory episode in the ” What not to Wear ” series. One sartorial monstrosity after another!
Well the bride – Shibani looked beautiful.. I loved her mauve dress
This is sooo KimK that she could give the Kardashians a run for their money.
Trashy.
I’m actually afraid to see how crass the comments will be.
Let’s criticize the dress, not the person, people. And definitely not “all women” please.
Given the attire of all the guests, maybe the theme was to be risque?
“Less is more” does not work here!!! Trashy outfit considering its an after-wedding party for the newlyweds.
Why steal the attention (and I don’t mean it in a good way) from the new bride :/
Still wondering why the couple opted for black theme
trying way too hard kind of outfit and completely inappropriate for the occasion
Absolutely hideous and disrespectful!
Ridiculous and its 47 synonyms
Yeh sahi tha.
A friend of mine told me a cliched line, sometimes a woman is another woman’s enemy.
Dragging someone down because they decide to show their skin. Tut tut. The kind of comments that have been posted for Deepika too in the past. Hiding behind the cloak of anonymity and throwing garbage.
I’m not sure if hiding behind anonymity.. identity is disclosed as per each platform.. username here, and profiles ids in whatever social network people chose to “throw garbage from”. Yes some comments are vile, maybe just avoid those.
Some are only critique of clothes, not the person, for all /most stars, not just Deepika.
Sigh. Exactly.
The comments get really nasty and personal. To the point that when I see a name I know what’s coming.
Even P&p who have been on a super long diplomacy spell couldn’t take it anymO and said the wtheyy word :)) such a relief to hear that come out!!! Cheers
And a plus 1000 to the sentiment
Yay for WTHEY!!
I also genuinely want to know how she feels comfortable walking around at a party like this. And before people attack me, I absolutely believe that women can and must dress however they want. The issue with this gown is it borders on malfunction with the barely there underwear completely visible. If I was her, I would constantly be concerned about adjusting my underwear to make sure my buttocks weren’t totally out!!!
I don’t love the outfit. But every time I look at this woman I am so motivated to workout lol.
Jaw drop. To a wedding party?! How can one walk around in that dress chatting with other guests? I feel self conscious wearing a choli that’s a bit low and here’s Malaika choosing to wear that, walk out into a waiting car, walk past cameras, wave to hosts, and line up for food. I can’t picture the whole thing without shrinking and she actually did it.
Trying to upstage the bride & be the center of attention ,so let’s wear a super trashy dress lol
