In Jean Louis Sabaji

Wearing a gown by Jean Louis Sabaji, Kajol attended the Filmfare Middle East event in Dubai on Thursday evening. The black and white gown with its dramatic collar sure looked striking on her, just wish the gown didn’t pool like it did. Also, a geometric box clutch would’ve worked better as well or just skipping it altogether.

  1. She looks really lovely, though the back flap gives the whole gown a dolphin like quality to it. The designer name sounds French, must be overpriced and called “couture”.

The picture on the far right is heavily photoshopped, WHY would they do that I wonder? She looks lovely AS IS.. shaping her legs and thinning her face is just the media’s way of telling everyone “what is appropriate”
    Shame!
And then they cry “Girls have no self esteem”.
    Duh!

    • I agree about the unnecessary Photoshop.
Kajol is not cast in the ‘it girl’ size zero, but she has a gorgeous hourglass figure. It’s a shame to try to erase it away.

      • But I am guessing she agreed to these photoshopped pictures…. You have the Bollywood brigade harping on about empowering women and they almost always use photoshopped images of themselves. Totally stupid and hypocritical

        • thats exactly it! BW is the Ivy League of bhashans on their Insta pages.

As if mango women, hard working, having a 80 hr work week, juggling home and a career need to be schooled by women wearing ugly designer/borrowed clothing and 5 nannies and a s— ton of makeup about how to be “empowered” 🙂

          • Ladies please… I think there’s a lot of unnecessarily bashing directed at BW in these comments when all they are doing is wear clothes they can afford. For all the hate we are directing at them for their clothes rubbing us the wrong way… we can make a choice to not come and comment. I think these ladies also have a tough job ( like many women) in the spot light and are judged every single day for their looks, opinions, their existence. I think it’s time to cut some slack.

    • I’d gone for a store launch recently. (A friend works there so managed to get us entry). The professional photographer there saw me taking selfies, and offered to take a pic of me from my 3 yr old phone.. just the angle and way he took the pics, made me look taller and slimmer and the whole pic had more depth.. there was no photoshop involved.

A photoshoot will be different from random pap photos.

Can we just enjoy the fashion and the nice pics without pulling the subjects down in EVERY SINGLE COMMENT. Too much nastiness.

I understand photoshopped pics are creating a self esteem havoc and I’m totally against the whole “need to be pretty” to exist as a human female culture.

But for god’s sake , this is a fashion page covering mostly bolly ppl.

So many comments abusing them and in nasty sarcastic ways. Would we talk like this to ppl we know in real life? Sometimes I feel it’s just about pulling down ppl richer, thinner, prettier than ourselves to feel good about ourselves.

Can we just talk about the clothes and styling?

  2. Wat an uncomfortable style for a free, no fashion woman that kajol is. Not a good design too. The white scooped up portion looks like a veil attempt.

  3. I don’t think gown and wearer are well-matched here. The gown would have been fab for an editorial, but doesn’t translate well for an IRL outing.

Also, hard agree on the accessorizing, Payal. If such a dramatic gown had to be worn, a more minimal pair of clutch and heels would have worked better, imo.

  4. Love the gown and the fierce gal that she looks in it! minor gripe- that slit moves to the front and side?? slide slit is great but front slit is awkward

  5. I think she looks great, actually. I like the fact that Kajol is experimenting with her looks compared to actors like Vidya Balan and Aishwarya whose outfits are just so predictable and yawn-inducing.
