Of Feathers

Diana’s third day at Cannes was about feathers it seems. She started her day in a yellow Atelier Zuhra dress and then walked the red carpet wearing a strapless gown from Nedret Taciroglu.

I really hope we get some red carpet pics of her soon because she just looked divine!

Update: Added red carpet pics.

  1. I’m not crazy about either of these. Especially after what we’ve seen her from so far. Everything she wore before this was superior.

    • Agree to you views here. I do like the choice of colors and makeup in these looks but feathers are not doing much in favor.

  2. This is how you do drama. She looks like an old Hollywood star with the styling for the red carpet. Seriously, everyone should take out their pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, notebooks and all and start writing.
The day dress is just a little too magazine editorial for me, like a resort holiday feature in a fashion magazine.

  3. OMG! she looks jaw dropping in the peach gown! she perfectly hits the Cannes brief – classy and gorgeous. in spite of this being her first year, there seems to be no unnecessary excess in her looks for the sake of grabbing eyeballs! the so called Cannes veterans of Bollywood should take a leaf out of her book!

    • grey goose for some reason packed them all on a plane and jetted them off to cannes! sadly, not a single one of them – Kangana, Huma, Diana or Hina did much for the brand i assume!

  6. Her torso in the yellow one looks molting. Can’t look past the missing feathers at the lower waist (not exactly missing but look that way by design)

  7. Pitch perfect in the peach gown. All the right touches, nothing extra, a quiet confidence , no exaggerated posing. Class is as class does.

  10. For me, best dressed so far is Diana, Each and every outfit of hers including makeup and hair are on point and most importantly her personality is coming out in those.. Being a fan of DP, I imagined her in this kind of styling but I was completely disappointed with both styling and posing.. I did not see that element of freshness and comfort, all I see if the pressure of trying to stand out..

  11. The yellow one is more like a half skinned chicken. Or in Hindi aadhi chilli (skinned/peeled) Murgi.
    But I Diana I like.

  12. Peach one is like any other ball gown with unnecessary feather attached to it.
Second look is worse. She looks like Half skinned chicken.
Her face, her grace, her hair and makeup is the saving grace.

  13. The Cannes belonged to Diana Penty. Thanks to Diana for saving me from the tacky and tryhard looks of other overrated Bollywood celebs. There is at least one person from India that I can root for. Diana has that elegant dressing sense and class. Aishwarya is not a tryhard but she is careless, of course she is ethereal.

  14. When I saw the gown..it badly reminded me of something…then it dawned…my father’s old tall lamp shade. ” Pathetic creations and designs so far on the red carpet. Just bunch of borrowed ideas from here and there and exaggerate everything whether its frills, feathers, ruffles or bows.

    • Just because her style resonates with the majority watching this space, doesn’t mean it’s overrarrd. It probably means that that standards are so low at Cannes that even an under rated dress looks fab.

      • By that logic, Huma should be getting all the praises then. The fact is none of them can beat Diana’s dressing sense.

    • Lol, I agree about the criticizing popular actresses bit. She looks nice, but not to the extent people are gushing over her. TBH, these two looks are in the same category as all the others who wore gowns to the red carpet. Her jumpsuit was a killer look no doubt, but now the accolades seem like a hangover from her old looks.

  15. Diana looks great because she has the body and the body language to carry off these outfits, regardless of the outfits itself. She has a certain charm that Aishwarya never had. Aishwarya on the other hand has tried every look and some how has managed to fatigue the Cannes-watcher. Same old exaggerated red carpet outfits, lacklustre airport looks, orange red lips, poker straight hair etc. She needs to take a break and even re-invent her style if she wants to stay relevant. I doubt even her contemporaries relate to her style.

  16. Cannes 2019 for Bollywood seems like t belongs to Diana. She looks elegant and stunning. No gimmicky silhouettes or fierce posing, just beautiful without being a try hard. Bravo to her and her styling team.

  17. She has a delicate, statuesque and elegant beauty which goes well with the feathery gown and the retro hairdo perfectly. No unnecessary skin show yet she grabs attention.

  18. I liked her peach gown on Instagram but now that I see the close up pics, I can’t get past the weird overhang on the left boob that looks like a bra slipping out. As for the yellow outfit, the less said the better. But Diana is faring much better than the other Indian actors at Cannes (Or I am still in trance of her saree gown look)
