In Bloni

Wearing an Blonishimmery sari made from recycled metal and matching turtleneck body suit, Bhumi attended the Elle Sustainability Awards on Wednesday evening. That contrast white piping bikini top was just too jarring but it wasn’t as though I liked this sari itself to begin with. Her makup here also wasn’t helping. Did you like?

  1. “bahut kharab” lekin; parantu; absolutely staying true to self 🙂

Did the make up man/woman get confused between surmein-daani and liner?
Blouse ye ‘naam maatr’ hai and when will this trend go away?
the color is nice but what’s with the hand-sleeves on a supposedly Indian blouse, but sure one could argue that this isn’t an indian blouse look at all… whatever may be the argument those sleeves have no purpose covering the hand in bombay’s heat and do nothing to salvage the look either.

Also not a big fan of the falls of the saree on the right.

Again, color is pretty- that’s all

  2. I can never understand how these celebrities and their teams can be so clueless. Don’t even want to discuss the aesthetics of the look. But the fabric?? Also, why invite such people who do not practice sustainability in their regular life?

      • Style is personal and I don’t care for hers either. Her style being misguided is just your opinion. I admire her that she stands by her misguided style and doesn’t look like all other cookie cutter stars.

        • I doubt that’s her personal style because there was no evidence of it evolving, it changed overnight. 20+ divisive comments on her outfit choice is better than no attention. Sorry but that’s just inauthentic. I’d respect her if it really was her personal style.

  3. Well if you are going to give out sustainability awards, then a zoom meeting maybe and not use up so many resources. Won’t even talk about how this outfit is appropriate for a sustainability event.

  4. It occurs to me that all the ‘barely-there’ fashion with giant cutouts, bra-like blouses, should qualify for sustainability – so much fabric saving as Amol Palekar tells Utpal Dutt in Gol Maal – if all kurtas got shorter, there would be fabric to clothe all of India’s poor
