Rukmini’s movie Kantara: Chapter 1 was recognized at the THR India Honours event and at the event she was seen in a draped sari gown from 431-88. I look at the model and the drape worked so well but on Rukmini the whole sari fell flat and I blame the drape. It also needed more interesting footwear.

Anupama, whose film Bison was recognized at an event hosted by The Hollywood Reporter India, was seen at the event in a gown from Amit Aggarwal worn with gold hoops and her naturally curly hair tied up in a pseudo top knot. I like that she kept it simple and I love Amit Aggarwal but something is not working here on the top part of this gown.

Kalyani attended an event where her film (Lokaah) was celebrated wearing Itrh‘s signature sparkly rhinestone gown which am not surprised that wore given her current stylist, Mohit Rai, is creative designer of the label.
She looked nice but am so bored of a) corset designs and b) this rhinestone fabric.

Kareena attended an event on Wednesday evening wearing a vintage gown from Vicky Tiel paired with a ruby necklace and her hair down. I like the idea of keeping it simple but I feel like the gown needed a different hair do.
Having said that though, it is funny that the corset drape gown has been adopted by so many labels and has been sported so often that am wondering if it was a conscious move by Rhea, who styled her, to opt for a vintage piece to kinda one-up the rest and/also school the current Indian labels. (Pure speculation on my part, but of course, but if true, well-played, Rhea!)
P.S. The bottom row is just some of the recent labels that come to my mind who have offered the corset draped gown. Am sure there are plenty more!

Mona opted to go a more casual route at an event honoring entertainment’s best and was seen in a Chola shirt and pants set paired with a gold cuff and pumps. I actually quite liked this and am loving her serving different looks to us but also keeping it simple and relatable.
