In Marc By Marc Jacobs

An evening out at the movies had Ms. Bendre wearing a Marc By Marc Jacobs top paired with Ferragamo peep-toe pumps… It’s a great look for a casual evening out and I absolutely heart those pumps. I know that the grosgrain bow (on the pumps) isn’t going to appeal to everyone but these are sooo going on my list! 😉

Look inside to see who else was wearing the same Marc by Marc Jacobs print albeit in it’s dress avatar…

Cover Wars

It’s happened before where the same dress gets used on the cover of two different magazines (Remember this?). This time though, Twinkle wears the Pre-fall Christian Dior gown on a cover that hit stands before Shilpa’s. Even though, for some, having Akshay on the cover too (and no, not because of the ex-factor but just because he is such a hunk) might tip the scales, we prefer the Harper’s Bazaar as it didn’t hide the gown.

In Lanvin

It hardly comes as a surprise that People magazine called Sonam Kapoor ‘Best Dressed’… Nor is it much of a surprise that Ms. Kapoor totally worked this rather suspect Lanvin dress!

It would’ve been even better had she done a Lucy Liu and paired her dress with a belt to add some definition to the dress. But we’ll take this too! 😉

P.S: Will swap out with better pics when we come across them.

Ditto: A Sandal Edition

Considering we’ve already seen Blake Lively rock those exact pair of blue Zara sandals in a beautiful Matthew Williamson, it wasn’t going to be easy to pull of a better look than that. Sonal tried, but alas failed miserably. The pink dress was a little too much of a contrast (and ghastly) for those heels. This round goes to Priyanka and her monochromatic look, for us. What about for you?

Lakme Fashion Week Spring 2010: Day Four

In case you are wondering what happened to day three, it was a menswear-centric day and we’ll be coming back to it after we finish womenswear.

Taking inspiration from his home state’s attire, Nagaland born Imcha Imchen presented a collection of men and women’s wear in organic cotton and silk with vegetable dyes. ‘How Many Stories Can You See On My Face’ comprised of block print/double layered tops, draped dresses for women with pleated shirts and wrap around skirts for men.

On day two, we saw the innovative ‘Button Masala’ collection by Anuj Sharma. Day four also presented another innovation collection by Neha Agarwal. ‘I Stole From Him’ was rooted in two basic pieces: a long shift dress and an oversized net jacket. Neha combined several different fabrics like voile, silk, chiffon and net and came up with multiple creations that all stuck to the root theme of the one dress and one jacket. I, for one, loved the whole collection.

‘Breathe’, the collection by Kiran and Megha, consisted of smock dresses and pinafores in beige, white and black. Most of the dresses had a contrasting gold hemline or an underlying layer in a different print to form a contrast with the top one. The flowy silhouettes will appeal to a lot especially when you think of the hot summers that we sometimes go through.

Virtues also presented a Bridal collection, ‘Forever’, but instead of using bold colors that we normally associate marriage festivites with, the designers went with a more muted color palette that consisted of sea green, beige and soft pinks. What I liked about this collection was the use of gold without it feeling blingy but what I didn’t like about this collection was the tailoring on some of the cholis, very ill-fitted on the models.
