In Eka

For the screening of her movie at MAMI, Konkona picked a striped sari by Eka. A small bindi, silver jhumkis and a roomy leather satchel rounded out the actor-filmmaker’s look.

She looked lovely. But that said, wish Ms. Sharma had ditched the shoulder bag for a smaller one or even a clutch for a more polished, put together look. It might not be her aesthetic but both the event and her sari called for one here.

  1. Gorge. Somehow I feel like the bag is working. Although it could feel like the wrong choice, somehow I feel like it’s working with the vibe of the event and Konkona’s personality.

  2. I like the look and the bag with it.

PnP on this occasion I disagree with you, and feel that women should be allowed to carry any size bag they want…tiny clutch purses make women feel ornamental and helpless. Even phones barely fit in some. 🙁

  3. I love the look. I find it hard to get on board with these high neck, longish sleeved blouses.
I’ve always preferred saris with traditional blouses.
But Konkona sells it to me like nobody’s business.

  4. I love this 70s vibe. My mom and aunt dressed this way to work and everywhere. So wearable and real.
On a broader note, I find that fashion and utility are often seen as mutually exclusive. Maybe she has stuff to carry in her bag and its utility makes it beautiful.
