Absolutely.. In fact maybe P&P should start covering our women politicians! Nirmala S wore a luscious red saree during her Budget speech and just yesterday I saw Ms. Jaya B in an utterly delicious mango saree! For some reason, Bollywood has decided to dress the exact opposite of how normal folks would dress.
Yes there is a whole world out there where everything from western to 100% Indian is interesting and eye sukoon.

Day in and say out my limited and more down to earth saree wardrobe will trump each and every saree one typically sees here. Why ? Because those are wonderful hand woven fabrics, made by weavers who are masters of their craft, each telling a unique story in color and pattern. Last time a post here made me remotely ‘interested and curious’ was Nandita Das in a Vriksh kumbha saree. There is such a dearth of stylish people in Bollywood…. Someone who inspires us
I agree – P&P – Post pictures of folks who are not from Films & Performing arts – but maybe only when they dress well.
The skirt has a lot of fabric. This could have been a crisper look if the skirt was not so billowing.
I love Vidya Balan and I love her in a Sari always. She rocks traditional clothes- wears them with grace and pride and almost always does justice to them but this outfit in the videos where I saw her walking in was very awkward- it was unflattering in my opinion from her waist and made her waist look bulkier- there is too much cloth around that skirt and that blouse bottom is not flattering on her.
Another observation- Vidya should have tried another hair style here- something less severe would have uplifted this look.
Vidya looks gorgeous. Compared to all the sequinned sarees, this was easily one of the better outfits.
