Bow And Clutch

Twinkle Khanna at the recent Stardust Awards was carrying a black bow clutch which reminded me of bow clutches that Valentino designed!

Though first made famous by Valentino, looks like other design houses too have incorporated the ‘bow’ look on their clutches this season! I personally prefer the Louboutin one, its looks far more cleaner and minimal, while still retaining the whimsical, feminine appeal!

A Spring Swirl

A heavy dose of petals, leaves, stems and all kinds of flowers were seen in collections of various designers in their Spring 2008 Ready-To-Wear collections! ‘Floral’ never looked so good before!

Some were seen on very structured outfits, some on not as much, sometimes the colors were a vibrant multi-color explosion of palette and then sometimes there was the dulled monochromatic play but still just as vibrant!

I have never been one for anything floral but how do you say no to Oscar De La Renta or Carolina Herrera? Have you seen those outfits?

Of course, not all that I saw was good (that Valentino outfit!!), but for now, lets only dwell on the fashionably divine.

Would You Wear It?

I have been looking at accessories of various designers’ from their Spring Ready To Wear 2008 collections and some of these ‘crazy-super-over-the-top’ shoes jumped out at me..

What do you think? See yourself in any?

How Not To Valentino!

Yay, we are so glad we have our first Histoire sighting!

We would have probably chosen a simpler outfit though and let the bag do all the talking! Much like the two ladies below!

Imitation, Best Form Of Flattery?

Imitation has never escaped the fashion industry but then there has always been a line to draw between that which draws inspiration and that which only imitates!

Inspired nuances are good for the budget shoppers because it gives them a way to get a particular look without having to break the bank…

Below, is a Miu Miu bag on the left and a Steve Madden tote on the right. Quite similar but not identical.

But then look at these two clutches. At a glance, they are absolutely identical! The Valentino Satin Bow clutch has been very popular with A-listers this season but priced at $750.00, it does come at a hefty price! Imagine my surprise when I found the exact identical clutch at Steve Madden for a mere $38.00!!

My question to you is this: Knowing that an identical original exists, will you still go for the cheaper, ‘inspired’ one? Or would you rather find an original at whatever price range it is that you are shopping in?
