Sonam walked the red carpet again today at Cannes, this time picking a yellow Elie Saab Couture gown with Chopard ruby drop earrings and a pink lip providing for a contrast.

The gown may have been a Saab (and we love him!), but at first glance itself, I felt no love for it. The feathers at the bust felt rather excessive and between it and the hemline, the gown looked more like a rug.

Rarely does Ms. Kapoor look overwhelmed in an outfit but here, she definitely did.

Sonam visited the India Pavilion at Cannes today for the unveiling of chef Vikas Khanna’s latest book, Utsav. For the appearance she picked a white Ashi Studio dress wearing the A-line dress with white strappy sandals.

Although this was a dress appearance, between the cream look in the sari and the revealing neckline yesterday, this look felt like it came too soon. It, also, felt a bit much for the book launch.

In Ralph & Russo Couture

For the red carpet, Sonam went blue in a Ralph & Russo Couture gown from the Spring 2014 collection. Chopard sapphire and diamond earrings and a pair of Zanotti sandals added more elements of blue to the look.

Half the battle was already won with the color pick. The cobalt blue gown really stood out against the red carpet. While the gown was dramatic, the side swept hair softened the look and made it a classic one.

I do have to point out though, in some pics (more here) the eye-makeup made her look a bit tired.

For press junkets at the Hotel Martinez, Sonam looked quite the diva wearing a ruffled Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla sari with a sheer laser cut blouse. Looking at the middle pic from Rhea’s Instagram, one would think that it was from a print ad. And perhaps, this look should’ve been saved for one as well.

I have no issue with the sari, I think she looked fabulous, but I do think this look was a bit much for press junkets. And now that I have seen the nude pastie, I can’t quite unsee it.

But, it is Cannes after all and you either go big or go home.
