Alia attended the Police Umang show wearing a Manish Malhotra brocade skirt with white badla-work shirt. The maxi skirt/shirt combo was all the rage last year but can’t say am loving this pairing. The top screams 80s disco and that isn’t particularly a good thing.

She’d have fared better if she’d worn a simple sleeveless white or dull gold top to go with the skirt and those traditional Madhurya earrings.

Kanika both walked the red carpet and later performed at the Awards wearing a festive Manish Malhotra Banarasi lehenga. Maheep Kapoor for Satyani jewelry finished out the look. Having been among the very few to do Indianwear at the Filmfare Awards, Kanika stood out right away. And stood out for the right reasons too; love the color on her.

Sonali picked a black and white Manish Malhotra gown to wear to the Filmfare Awards and while we didn’t care much for the gown, it wasn’t the main culprit in bringing down her look. It was the hairdo. The side-swept do just didn’t suit her one bit.

Raveena attended the Filmfare Awards sporting a Manish Malhotra lehenga from the designer’s new Benaras collection. Hair in an updo, her look was finished out with a kundan double-stranded necklace.

I am quite surprised by how much I love this look on her. Ms. Tandon almost always wears heavy eye-makeup and a bold lip and I think what made this look a winner was not just the outfit but also the eye-makeup which wasn’t as strong.
