Raveena attended the Filmfare Awards sporting a Manish Malhotra lehenga from the designer’s new Benaras collection. Hair in an updo, her look was finished out with a kundan double-stranded necklace.
I am quite surprised by how much I love this look on her. Ms. Tandon almost always wears heavy eye-makeup and a bold lip and I think what made this look a winner was not just the outfit but also the eye-makeup which wasn’t as strong.

Yes Raw Mango and Sanjay Garg (?) started the fashion of using Benares but Manish Malhotra’s silhouettes and color combinations are different. Raw Mango is very raw and earthy(and I love their work), but MM elevates everything to a dreamy, “soft” feminine look and I think thats quite impressive considering Benares is a “strong” material.
At least, thats what I think 🙂
This is the ravishing Raveena that I remember! What a beautiful outfit and she wears it so well. In my opinion, easily one of the best dressed of the evening. It all works – the hair, the makeup and the clothes!
I honestly think she is one of the best dressed. Such elegance and poise and not a touch of try hard. Who knew we would say this of Raveena?
Although she looks really regal and stunning in this look , why does she always stare pointedly at the photobugs even when she is smiling??! Like in the last pic??!! I feel so scared looking at her eyes! 🙁 I think if I *ever* meet I would just be too scared to look her in the eye and just scramble away !

MM not only imitated Sanjay Garg’s designs, but make them tacky by adding velvet blouses and baubles to dupattas. Where will the chammak challo taste go despite using the benarasi fabric?
Lovely. Raveena – whoever styled you for this red carpet, pls stick to them. This is what you are capable of. Velvet done right. She had the best MM look of the evening. She looks stunning and the jewelry is perfect.
