Elephanta Tales

If you live in London, you’ve probably noticed brightly colored baby elephants all around the streets. These baby elephants are part of the Elephant Parade, a conservation campaign that is trying to highlight the crisis faced by endangered Asian elephant.

Corporations, fashion designers and artists came together to put this project together and there are several of them featuring Indian influences too. From the design world, designers Abu-Sandeep, Manish Arora and Tarun Tahiliani have one of their own. From the arts world, Nilesh Mistry got to design not one but three.

But, the most surprising part of the parade has got to be that all the IPL Teams also have one of their own. Where India is concerned, Cricket does trump everything else.

Catch all of the designs inside and thanks ‘Kirthi’ for bringing the parade to our attention.

P.S. If you can’t cover it all (considering they are spread out all over the city), you can catch all of the elephants on the official viewing days at the Royal Hospital Chelsea on the 25th, 26th and 28th of June. Get more info Here.

In Manish Arora

Katy Perry in Manish Arora again, no surprises there.

Payal and I disagree on this one, but, I love that dress. The train doesn’t bother me as much as it does Payal… However, I can’t wait to see this dress in a train-less version, have a sneaking suspicion it’d be much hotter in that avatar. Absolute Red Carpet awesomeness… Yes, am gushing like a schoolgirl! Am such a sucker for grey.

Katy paired her dress with Jimmy Choo β€œZap” LED light-up platform sandals that actually light up. As funky and hot as they were, we can’t help but wish she skipped ’em. Those shoes deserve a starring role, they shouldn’t have had to compete with that dress.

Payal Says: As much as I love the pink on grey, the asymmetrical hemline is killing the look for me. Deal-breaker.

Twice The Nice- Part Deux

We often get asked about our ‘Best-Dressed’ list and I have to say one name that always makes the cut is that of Priya Kishore’s. No one else quite marries the eclectic kitsch with high-end chic quite like she does.

In Manish Arora

At Little Shilpa’s bash at Wills Fashion Week last week, model Sapna Kumar and the gentlemn were both spotted wearing Manish Arora. While she wore a dress from the more recent Spring 2010 collection, he wore a shirt from the Spring 2008 one that celebrated pop art and till date IS my favorite collection of his.

P.S. Anyone remember the models name?

Update: Thanks Pooja for the model ID!

Wonder Window

I love ‘Alice In Wonderland’ and cannot wait for the movie but in the meantime, am devouring the whole book-inspired-movie-inspired madness (in a very Alice way).

Speaking of which, look what caught our eye… Printemps (a French department store) collaborated with few designers wherein they (the designers) would display their own interpretation of ‘Alice’ via clothes, decoration et al in their own allocated windows. And Manish Arora was one among those very designers.

It’s no secret, we love Manish Arora and so it should come as no surprise we love his window. Love the whole futuristic meets retro vibe and who needs mushrooms with those tights?! πŸ˜‰ Love.

We are all mad here!

P.S: ‘Alice In Wonderland’ reminds me, who do you think will be the first to go, “Off with her head” when they spot us at the Fashion Week? πŸ˜‰

For more pics, go Here. Don’t miss the McQueen window.
