Ms. Balan is currently in the States promoting the upcoming IIFA Awards in various cities. Her first stop was a press meet in NY to which she wore a Satya Paul printed sari with an orange long jacket blouse with earrings from the Manish Arora for Amrapali collection.

The checkered print in itself was so strong that a pop of color would’ve sufficed. What could’ve been interesting, with that jacket just looked overwhelming. With a softer hair do and a shorter blouse, this look might have worked but as it stands, it wasn’t working one bit.

Why Vidya, why? The nearly never-changing hair on this promo tour, we’ve made peace with. But those chunky shoes? No.

In Delhi to promote her movie, Vidya picked Rahul Mishra for the outing. But between the heavy hair and heavy black heels, the look felt really weighed down. Braided hair or a low ponytail, strappy heels or a pair of jootis, and the look could’ve been a winner!

Over the weekend, Vidya and Farhan visited Dance India Dance finale to promote Shaadi Ke Side Effects to which Vidya wore a Rahul Mishra. The length difference between the kurta and the pants is what made the outfit stand out. Unfortunately, on Vidya, the look felt like any other floor-length anarkali.

In Anand Kabra

Wearing an Anand Kabra dress, Vidya was photographed on the sets of a television show where she was promoting her upcoming movie. Gold-tone accessories from Viange and grey pumps finished out her look.

Love the rich bordeaux color of the dress on her but really, really dislike the sister-wife hair. On paper, the dress should’ve worked on Vidya but the look somehow fails to come together just right. Let’s just chalk this one out to a Not Quite.

In Pankaj and Nidhi

Vidya continued promotions for SKSE visiting the Radio Mirchi sets today. We don’t know if it was a conscious decision to wear the musical print Pankaj and Nidhi tunic but it sure was cute.

She looked nice but am beginning to notice a pattern here. First the shirt maxi, then the shirt style dress and here we have another shirt tunic.
