It was an aubergine Gauri and Nainika gown for Dia Mirza. It was a look that’s right up Ms. Mirza’s comfort zone/alley and, while the silhouette was no surprise, glad she opted for a more unusual color (for her).

Pairing red with black and white is not rocket science but where Dia goes wrong is by adding one too many.
This look could’ve used one less red and we go with the shoes. You? (After all these years, we are kind of surprised to see Dia make such a simple mistake.)

Barring the color, Dia’s black dress look reminded us a lot of her appearance from the Teacher’s Achievement Awards. She also wore a turtleneck dress with a statement necklace at the previous event but of the two though, I much preferred the silk dress. The shorter necklace made the look standout more even though the slit-sleeves was a turn off. On the black dress, the gold necklace felt quite out of place.

It may not be by much, but Dia did slightly manage to change it up at a recent appearance by opting out of pastel dresses and long beaded necklaces for jewelry. She looked good; we like.
