The Monisha Jaising run continues with Deepika choosing to wear a gold paillette dress to a recent event, version of which we saw during the Couture Week.

As gorgeous as Ms. Padukone is, this dress was a bit much for an event that still had the sun out. The dress looked just too harsh in the natural light and those flat glads just didn’t work with the dress. At all. Neck-up though, the woman is flawless.

“A smile being your best accessory” never was truer than this appearance of Deepika’s. Apart from it, didn’t quite find anything much to like: neither the pale-pink bubble-hem dress (that washed her out) nor those Balmain-inspired sandals. You like?

Come on Ms. Padukone, you can do better. Far better.

Verve sure had one popular editorial… Katrina Kaif wore a dress used in that shoot and so did Deepika Padukone. Innnnteresting.

Ordinarily, we don’t see Ms. Padukone in a dress as risqué as this one so it sure makes for a change. However, am on the fence if I actually like it (the dress that is). We do like that she kept it minimal and let the embellishment on the dress do all the talking. The color looks good and the nude’ish/dewy make-up really works on her… but the dress itself doesn’t seem like it’s working on her. Like I said, on the fence.

On an aside, how gorgeous does she look in that shoot?! Love.

A dress we just saw used in an editorial on Deepika Padukone made it’s way onto Katrina Kaif at a recent Awards show red carpet… ooops!

First, it was the same dresses being used across the magazines, and now it’s A-list actresses being seen in the same dress as others much too soon… where have all the stylists gone?

Barring the snafu, what did y’all think of this dress on Ms. Kaif? For us, more than anything else, it’s a major relief from the recent tween mode she’s been in. But even thaaat doesn’t excuse those shoes with that dress. 😛

The November edition of Verve serves up Ms. Padukone wearing a Monisha Jaisingh sequin jumpsuit fresh off the Couture Week runway. While I am not a fan of the design of the jumpsuit (the v-neck), angelic is what came to mind when I saw Deepika on the cover. Your thoughts on the cover?
