From Real Life To Cover

When Freida first wore this Spring 2010 Valentino dress, how we wished she had worn the nude version. Well, Grazia India make us very happy peeps by not only putting Sonam in it on their 2nd Anniversary cover but also giving us a very fun cover shot by Vishesh Verma.

Had we known we were getting our wishes, we would’ve wished for…. now that’s for us to know and you to keep guessing!

Update: Added clearer pic and more pics of the shoot inside.

  1. I would wish for COLLEGE! and LAW SCHOOL!
Anyway, she looks… good. It’s a little garish and frightening actually, I don’t know if that was what they were going for.

  2. I wish they could have done some better photoshopping to Sonams’ mouth. First her lips are too dark and frankly it looks creepy . No ones inner mouth can be that dark….

Or maybe I have watch way too many vampire movies..

I like the dress better in nude version..

    • I think this image is not the exact version of the cover. I have seen better scans elsewhere. The colors are all wrong here….the photoshop is actually done quite well! Hopefully P&P will post better scans!

  3. The mag cover queen is back after a hiatus…and doesn’t disappoint!Curious to see what the rest of the shots look like.

  4. I think the setting and the dress are a total mismatch! The valentino is young and feminine but not peppy, fun and vibrant! Also the contrast levels they’ve used just doesnt go with the dress (or sonam’s inner mouth as someone said! :P)

  5. If compared I would prefer Freida look as it’s original unlike sonams ehich is photoshoped…but the dress color of sonams is good…

    • there is definitely something weird about her eyebrows. i made a comment in her previous post as well. i think she needs to make them thinner. she has a thin face.. and her eyebrows look like they’re taking over her face.

  7. I absolutely love. I love balloons. I have a balloon fixation. This looks so beautiful – like a dream. I hate Sonam, she gets to have all the fun.

  8. Having seen all the other picures, I love this shoot even more. I am especially in love with the GORGEOUS shot of her in Burberry; this girl knows how to work a photoshoot.

  9. Lovely colour, lovely shoot.. I have said it thrice earlier.. I just love Grazia. The only time I felt Sonam did not look good is the Month Blanc ad.. her make up/silver dress does not look great on the TV screen.. otherwise she and Soniya mehra are great fashionistas and fresh…

  10. What a gorgeous woman! I don’t even want to give Frieda a second look after seeing Sonam. I like the surreality in the photos paired with the rather haunting face. Nice!

  11. Sonam looks great—gosh how I heart the Burberry Prorsum collection…the draping, the texture, the absolute LUXE feel to it…fantastic!! Well done Christopher Bailley 🙂
Freida, meh, the less said the better since I do not find her appealing in any which way…she is so BLAH!! I am not sure why people go gaga over her…there I said it, now please don’t flay me alive!

  12. she carries all the clothes better than the runways models. Just fabulous. I am so glad she has not tried to be creative with her hair.

  13. I love the cover.. mainly because of how its shot but wish her face was more recognizable. Love the clothes, hair and props. Like the version of the dress Sonam is wearing. Think that the 3rd pic (Burberry) looks a bit awkward. Believe that in the final pic the sandals take away all the attention.

  14. The cover is very cute. want the dress…bad. She looks scary in the Burberry one. Bad bad makeup. makes her look tired and old.

  15. The 4th pic is funny sitting like that in that position near a wall, reminds of a typical ealry morning village scene…u might have guessed what I am referring to 🙂

is that a scan? cos the cover looks pretty dull. maybe its just a bad scan! the colors ought to be more vibrant

  18. hmmm…i think i still prefer Freida’s version. it would be another thing if sonam wore the nude valentino on a red carpet. I just like Freida. she is a ahead of everything

  19. I don’t know.. Somehow neck upwards something just looks weird.. Think it’s the eyebrows..

But agree with P&P that the photoshoot’s very very fun..

  20. some of you like PETTYFOGGER sometimes need to understand that a red carpet photoshoot that has no photoshop whatsoever ,where even a zit will be a Zit and not a clean and clear face is a bigger challenge than a Magazine photoshoot with heaps of photoshopping a chance to correct your pose if its wrong! its like comparing theatre and a film…you obviously cant! i mean please use some COMMON SENSE people and Payal @ HHC…do u even think its fair to put up something like this in a comparison debate? Sonam does do justice to the cover of this magazine as does Freida on the red carpet…full marks!

    • lovechanel,
If we were doing a comparison, we would have added a poll or asked the question. The Frieda pic was just to remind everyone that we’ve seen the dress before.

    • Woah! I wasn’t making a comparison either. I was not implying Freida looked bad in comparison. It’s rather natural to prefer to look at something that’s MORE appealing even if they become so due to superficial reasons- photoshoots are always fun to look at – the concept, make up, etc. I might have said the same even if it had been the reverse, with Freida doing the photoshoot and Sonam on the red carpet.

You’re just under the delusion that a comparison debate is going on when in actuality there is none. But okay, thanks, we’ll use some common sense next time. Perhaps you could donate us some.

  22. Is it just me who doesn’t like the cover? Sonam’s a gorgeous girl, but she’s looked way better. Maybe it’s the scan, but honestly think something is off
