For promotions of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Sonam taped for a Diwali special wearing a lace Shehlaa lehenga. Hair in an updo, the actor kept her jewellery simple letting the lehenga be the highlight of the look.
If there is anyone who wears these chantilly lace lehengas well, it’s Sonam. I have yet to see anyone else be able to do justice to them.

We have seen her in almost all of shehlaa, Anamika Khanna collection. Now we get to see her wearing different colours of them.
Why overdress every time ?
She looks pretty when she does simple. The question is… does she ever do simple ?
Yes, only exactly as you put it. She ‘does’ simple sometimes, so obviously painstakingly put together that the simplicity is lost !
God forbid she dresses in character to record a Diwali show where she is promoting her movie in which she plays…a princess!!

Sonam looks pretty.. Very elegant, graceful and classy.
Both Dia and Karishma would have done justice to this lace number and yes Sonam does not pull this off. She has gone back to white washing ashy face.

Oh what a sad promotion tour this is going to be – one blingy-super heavy lehenga after another! I am already bored. Hope she switches up a bit. There are other desi wear options – saris, salwars, kurtas, fusion wear(even anarkalis and those random looking dhoti pants – at this point its anything over another lehenga).
Lehengas, per my experience, are the most uncomfortable indian wear. So heavy and voluminous. However elegant they may be, I cant see her wear them for day after day and be comfortable in them.

Totally agree with you on this. I am not a big fan of Shehla’s designs but somehow on Sonam, they don’t look half as bad… It has something to do with her classic looks and her inclinations towards more Vintage MGD-esque fashion preferences. On an aside, I feel Sonam loves the promotion rounds like anything and always dresses to the nines… Thankfully this time she can say that she is in character 😛
I hate the outfit but Sonam looks pretty. I love her smile. Not sure what she sees in Shehlaa. Hate her outfits. I wouldn’t gift it even to my enemy.

Her make up & Hair do is only worth appreciating….
