Sonam attended the preview party of the Royal Academy of Arts Exhibition on Thursday wearing an Anamika Khanna long jacket and skirt. Hair in an high bun, her look was finished out with ear climbers and a black bag.
I do like her representing by wearing an Indian designer and the fact that she kept it simple and fuss-free. She looked nice.

I wish she wore a darker lip similar to her nails. That would’ve just popped.
I wish celebs wear a saree to represent India.
That’s a commendable sentiment… only if you feel that all male celebrities of india should wear the equivalent (kurta/mundu/achkan) instead of suits when they represent india. Do you?
Agree with you, also, can’t assume saree to be the only “Indian” attire for women in India.
Just wanted to convey that saree was a better option than this boring look.
She isot representing India. Only herself. We, as a nation, need to receive movie stars of the burden of being demi gods/cultural representatives/socio political commentators..
Very dated
Her makeup makes her look tired, especially in the pic on the right where she’s not smiling. In the first one the smile over-rides the tired effect so hopefully she smiled a lot at the event. Seems a rather unremarkable look, but she does look statuesque and imposing which gets one’s attention.
There’s something a little odd about the proportions, it is dated and very Miss Havisham-ish. Neck up, she looks amazing though.

Less severe hair and doing away with those black full sleeve would’ve helped here. Boring but fine.

She is a member of Committee for this exhibition party apprently so I am glad she represented India. But nothing will ever come close to her pink saree with eliie saab shrug look in Paris.
