Wearing a Torani sari, Shilpa made her way to the capital for an awards event. A matching potli and jewelry from Amrapali rounded out her look. Like what you see?

  1. Why does Shilpa shetty look like she lives in the 90s? The big hair? the red lips?
She is so gorgeous and has the best body but looks tacky and dates 99.99% of the time! WHY!

  2. A very warm welcome to our resident chammak challo.
Forget about “liking what you see”, the question should be – Can you unsee this ?

  3. I like that she kept the finishing touches simple. But cant say I like the sari..worse version of the one that Shobhita wore! Some about the color, the velvet, the two tone and embroidery makes it very dated!

  4. I’m constantly gobsmacked as to how Shilpa always manages to get her hands on the tackiest, blingiest clothes. Who is making them? Why does nobody else wear them? Are they custom made for her?

  5. Always too much with Shilpa. Whether she wears less or more, she’s over the top.
This look reminds me of opulent home furnishings; a plush rug or some heavy velvet drapes.
*She could have made it work if she wore a simple saree with all of her jewelry. All of them, the nice amrapali set to the miscellaneous blings and rings, and also her pinky fingers. (she can keep them)
    or
if she wore this ensemble, she should’ve done it this way.
*she could have worn a dull gold blouse(note, not shiny) instead of staying matchy matchy or doing a christmas contrast. Only a dull gold will work, or she could ditch the blouse altogether. But no, she has to do the Shilpa over da top thing; it’s OCD
*Hair could be secured in a bun, but the medusa extensions need to say their piece.
*Less makeup, and NO drama in the lipstick. Keep them in the movies, the drama I mean. But, she does not feature in many, so she brings movies to real life I think.
    Nude footwear, no bling wherever.
The look she has now is brimming with tackiness, How she does it, I’ll never know. I can’t take it, and so I published the above rant list of recommendations.

  6. and oh that potli, how could i forget. But, it was camouflaged under all that swirling stuff, and when I saw it, it was totally overshadowed. that one is pretty, but she should not have made it part of this ensemble. It looks like a bowl of salad with ingredients that don’t go together.
I would have recommended her to wear a plain red sari with her amrapali jewels and that carry that potli. I will allow her that pinky ring, four actually for two fingers and two toes, and that still would not look over the top. That is what sets OTT from art and OCD from genius.

  7. Beautiful saree and beautiful color…necklace was not required. What I don’t get is why do celebs dress for marriage for all functions. This saree, without that blouse, the potli and necklace would have made this event appropriate. Nevertheless, she looks beautiful with everything included.

  8. There has to be an explanation. I think she avidly wraps up all freebies. She seems to never learn. Most of the socalled designers will never approach A list stars, because their stylists would have returned to sender in a jiffy. But with Shilpa who wants to stay in the spotlight no matter on whom it shines, the C designers are given phookat publicity. And so the tack fest continues from weaver to wearer.

    • The phookat designer here has a verified account. Not that it matters. The “C designers” do approach A list guys. But they do get over shadowed by the better and bigger names on the rack.

  9. Another tackfest from our resident Chamak Challo. She possesses the ugliest collection of saris in Bollywood.
What a waste of Amrapali jewelery.
