Awards, premieres, business magnate’s son’s/ daughter’s wedding, movie promotions, interviews – the default dress code for 90% of the women in Bollywood is this – BFF ki shaadi. Boring.
Last year, for my cousin’s wedding, I didn’t have time to shop for one of the events. So I re-purposed the choli and dupatta from one outfit and the lehenga from another. I swear, I thought it matched and I had a beautiful new outfit! When I looked at the pictures, the two pieces didn’t look great together. These pictures remind me of my own personal monstrosity 🙂
Not liking lehenga itself( combination of red and ice blue). Both the colours are super pretty, provided if seen individually. I have high expectations from Raw Mango.
She looks Clueless (movie reference intended)….as if she is trying to discover her style…She has a cute, innocent look going for her though…
On an aside, wonder if there are award show dress codes out there? Lehenga to a show like this? If she had worn a floor grazing anarkali,I would have given it a pass as that doubles up as a gown alternative…However, my tiny brain thinks lehenga is sooo odd…
Is it just me? or do we agree that our Indian events need to have an unspoken event appropriate clothes rule or ‘look’ OR
does anything Indian get a pass?
I am just trying to understand…just because it is a event to get dressy, do you really have to? What other semi-formal alternative could work? Why do our stars/stylists not experiment on these carpets?
That’s too much of a contrast …the red & blue are not going together at all.
