At The Awards

Rajamouli, the film’s director and, Keeravani, the film’s music composer attended the Globes where they went on to win an Award for ‘Best Original Song’. But can we all agree it was their wives, Rama and Srivalli that stole the show with their vibrant (and classic) silk saris and smiles?!

  1. Fully agree. Both of them stood out for all the right reasons and thankfully no fake airs and unnecessary sho-sha. Our colorful sarees make all the designer gowns look so insipid.

Special mention to Rajamouli and Keeravani for keep the looks more authentic and not going the predictable suit-bow tie route.

  2. So beautiful and refreshing they both look, along with their well dressed hubbies..So ethnic and classy, and love their warm smiles, and the effortless charm. One of the best sightings ever.

  4. I like that they are dressed as for any function in India (as did Ram Charan and Upasana). And are also kind of sweetly co-ordinated. No ott bling Indian or designer duds thank god.

On a separate note, broad saree borders are really in now but imo they kind of ruin the symmetry of the saree apart from making one look shorter. Can’t wait for ordinary borders to come back!

  5. I didn’t instantly like the black red combination, a traditional attire in whites that they wear would’ve been better. Ladies look gracious.

    • It’s hard sometimes to appreciate true elegance, after being exposed to such , blingy and poorly put together looks for a long time. So I see where this comment is coming from. Never mind, I do hope more exposure to the rich traditional yet simple looks of the South will bring back some freshness to your views.

  6. OMG those smiles on the ladies! Love it!
Love them in their saris but I wish they had jewelry that was a little more substantial. It would have helped to dress them up but in a traditional way. I’m thinking a stack of gold and glass bangles or a thicker gold bangle. And/or a necklace that is a little more visible, maybe with a largish mahalaxmi pendant.
