It’s the beginning of summer for some and some of you are right in the middle of it. Let’s forget the trends and go back to the basics, shall we?

Yep, am talking about the SWD: Summer White Dress. It is must have in every wardrobe. And the best part about the SWD is that you can create many looks with just this basic. Pair yours with gladiators (a la Katrina) for a uber casual look or wedges (a la Barbara) for a more glam one. Finish off with a denim jacket or a colorful cardigan to stay warm at nights. The possibilites are endless. With this one item in your wardrobe, we guarantee you, summer won’t be so “cruel”. 🙂 (Yep, I’ve got Bananarama in my head right now.)

‘Rowena’ sent us these pictures of UK Home secretary Theresa May wearing a blue sari at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards.

Says Rowena, “I often think that when non-desi women choose to wear a sari they often do it badly, (yes, Liz Hurley, I’m talking about you) or choose incredibly garish colours that don’t flatter their skin tone. (Most of the women at the Obama’s reception for the Indian President), but I reckon Theresa May has achieved a look that flatters her and the sari!”

We agree with Rowena that Ms. May looks good and the color flatters her but the jewelled details on it are a bit much for us.

Ask and you shall receive. We all wished that Ms. Sherawat would change up her hairstyle and she did. But, do we like it. Not one bit. It also doesn’t help her case that we’ve seen this Dolce & Gabbana dress (albeit in a different version) already on Malaika and worn really well.

Seems like Ms. Sherawat seems to have alternate hits and misses.
